Jennifer Lopez reached out to Leonardo DiCaprio after revealing his ‘flirty’ text to her to the world

During one of the most memorable installments of Carpool Karaoke, James Corden and Jennifer Lopez not only sang along to some of her biggest hits, but also decided to prank-text Hollywood icon Leonardo DiCaprio.
The ‘Catch Me If You Can’ star has famously had a penchant for women 25 years of age and younger, but even he couldn’t resist the allure of 56-year-old Lopez, with the film industry’s most eligible bachelor falling for the singer’s flirty hoax.
Text Appeal
The artist-turned-actor later revealed that the decorated leading man took the joke well and found the whole thing rather amusing. Speaking to reporters following the exchange, she explained that she eventually had to give the ‘One Battle After Another’ star a debrief as to what had happened.
“I did have to explain it to him,” Lopez said (via ET). “He was a great sport about it ... I was like, ‘So hey, this is what had happened! I was with James Corden ...’”
She added that DiCaprio was relaxed about the whole situation. “He was totally like, ‘Do whatever you want, I don't care.’ I don't know if he'd say that today!”
During the segment, Corden grabbed Lopez’s phone and sent a playful message to the ‘Blood Diamond’ star that read: “Hey baby. I'm kind of feeling like I need to cut loose. Any suggestions, let me know. J. Lo (you know, from the block).”
DiCaprio quickly replied with a cheeky response of his own, writing: “You mean tonight, boo boo? Club wise?”
Sliding into a Hollywood heartthrob's dm's
After the stunt in 2016, Lopez returned to Corden’s show the following year, and the two divulged some more juicy details about the text exchange with the Hollywood heartthrob.
“How mad did he get?” Corden asked Lopez.
She replied: “He wasn’t mad at all! You know, I was afraid he would be mad when it all came out - he was so cool about it.”
For Lopez, it was the “most embarrassing 20 minutes” waiting for the Hollywood heartthrob to respond.
When his response finally came through, the mum-of-two said she was surprised DiCaprio genuinely thought it was her.
The rom-com specialist, who divorced Ben Affleck in January 2025, is now back on the market after a string of failed marriages.
DiCaprio, who is currently dating 27-year-old Italian model Vittoria Ceretti, has never worked with Lopez on-screen, but the pair clearly had textual chemistry.
