The 55-year-old superstar took to Instagram on Tuesday (May 13) to share a series of photos documenting her recovery, including one where she held an ice pack to her nose.

“So this happened…,” she captioned the image. In the next photo, she revealed a cut on her nose, adding, “During @amas rehearsals.”

A third post featured Lopez smiling next to Beverly Hills facial plastic surgeon Dr. Jason B. Diamond, known for his appearance on the reality show Dr. 90210.

“Thank you for stitching me up, Dr. Diamond,” she wrote. “A week later and a whole lotta ice and I’m good as new.”

The 'Let's Get Loud' singer, who previously hosted the AMAs in 2015, will take the stage once again to lead the awards show on May 26 at the BleauLive Theater in Las Vegas.

She has performed at the event more than 10 times since her debut in 2001 and won the award for Favorite Latin Artist in 2011.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jennifer Lopez back to host the American Music Awards,” Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions, said, per The Independent.

“Jennifer’s incredible talent and incomparable stage presence make her the ideal host of the show. We know she will bring her one-of-a-kind energy to the official kick-off celebration of summer," he added.

The 2025 show features a lineup of high-profile nominees including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, and Bruno Mars.

Lopez’s return as host comes a decade after her now-iconic 2015 AMAs performance, where she delivered a medley of that year’s biggest hits and honored music legends like Whitney Houston, Prince, and Madonna during her opening monologue.

“This show truly inspired me,” she told the audience at the time. “And made me dream that someday I could be one of the lucky ones who got to appear on the stage and perform for you, the fans of music everywhere," per The New York Post.

It’s not the first time the 'Into You' songstress has been injured during AMA rehearsals. In 2009, she fell on stage after slipping on a dancer’s sweat-covered back.

“We never bargained for that, because they always had t-shirts on in rehearsal,” she told The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “So they were bare-backed, didn’t have shirts on for the performance, and when I stepped on their backs, my feet got wet. So when I landed, it just slipped from under me.

“I’m going to try my hardest not to fall on my a**,” she joked at the time as she prepared for a redo performance with extra padding and protection.

Lopez’s recent injury comes amid public praise from her ex-husband Ben Affleck, who called her “spectacular” at the premiere of The Accountant 2 in Los Angeles.

“She’s great to my kids. I have a great ongoing relationship with her kids. I love her kids – they’re wonderful,” Affleck said. “She’s an enormously important, tremendous person with a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.

“The relationships that you can have with children like that – it’s the joy of my life,” he added. “Those kids are amazing, and I’m glad this is a movie they wanted to come to.”
