In this modern age of online dating, it now more important than ever to make a good first impression. Tinder, Bumble and other dating apps challenge people to make an impression in just a short few words.

Whether it's dad jokes, explaining your love of travel or posting a load of gym selfies, there's a wide variety of tips and tricks that people suggest to make a successful Tinder profile. However, while your bio is something that you have control of, there are certain things that you don't.

Sadly, your appearance, age and location are all things that can tick or untick boxes when it comes to potential partners. They are also parts of your personality that can be massive red flags.

So, when J-Lo appeared on Tinder's Swipe Sessions series to help someone out in the dating world, she issued some advice as to what you should be looking out for in a potential partner.

J-Lo could easily be seen as something of a dating expert, given that she has been married three times and linked to the likes of P Diddy, Ben Affleck and Drake in recent times.

But what does J-Lo look for in a man? Well, according to Jenny From The Block, she is not interested in anyone who is under the age of 33. Appearing on the programme, J-Lo said that men under that age are "useless" and she would know. Drake was 30 when they dated, Casper Smart was 24 when J-Lo was 41.

In the episode, the singer helps a woman called Brooke try and find potential candidates for a date. The pair can be seen swiping through a variety of different profiles, with Lopez repeatedly making snide remarks about each profile.

Eventually, Lopez and Brooke stumbled upon the profile of Maurice - a man who looked perfect for Brooke. Maurice was 29 and a social media manager who lived just four miles away. He could be seen drinking a glass of wine in his picture and ticked all the boxes for Brooke.

However, J-Lo, for her part, had some words of warning: Guys - until they're 33 are really useless". Ouch.

The search then moved on to 27-year-old Daniel, a man who - unsurprisingly - J-Lo was not interested in. Daniel's bio read: "If you store ketchup in the refrigerator, we're not going to work out."

It was a no-no from J-Lo, who said: "Bye, bye him."

But, while it may be easy to accuse J-Lo of being ageist, it turns out that her advice is pretty sound. Speaking to Business Insider, Dr Jane Greerm a relationship expert, said:  "It can take men into their early 30s to establish their professional career and feel a sense of financial stability, which helps them feel more secure in life.

"As a result, this can give them the maturity that comes with accomplishment, experience, and success."

So, when it comes to dating, Jenny knows best. At least I know why she won't return my calls - I've got eight more years of waiting.
