Fans have trolled Justin Bieber over two words that appeared in a post he shared on the day his ex Selena Gomez got married.
Bieber shared the post on Saturday as he played basketball in Los Angeles, while just up the road, Gomez tied the knot with long-term partner Benny Blanco.
But it was the choice of song in Bieber's post that caught people’s attention.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez dated on-off for nearly eight years
Bieber and Gomez had a long-standing and high-profile relationship for years before going their separate ways.
Now, Bieber is married to his wife Hailey, and Gomez has celebrated her nuptials with Blanco over the weekend in a star-studded ceremony.
So, it would seem that all is well that ends well for the pair.
However, eagle-eyed fans spotted something about the post that Bieber shared over the weekend, and have been quick to pick him up on it.
After he shared the seemingly innocuous post about his basketball game at The League court in LA, fans noticed the music that he - or his team - had chosen to accompany it.
It was his own song ‘I Do’ about his wedding.
Slightly strange choice for a basketball post, no?
Also, is that really a coincidence?
The fans were convinced there was a hidden message
The post was inundated with comments by those who noted that interesting detail - especially because the pair were less than 100 miles from one another at the time.
They didn't hold back.
“You lost her, get over her,” one comment bluntly stated.
“The love of your life just got married [thumbs up emoji],” said another.
“Benny: I Do! Justin: I do too,” a third joked.
The comments kept rolling in.
“A song about your wedding in a basketball photo, one wants to help but this man doesn’t cooperate,” said someone else.
Selena Gomez shared pictures from her wedding on Saturday evening, showing the newlyweds holding hands and enjoying a hug.
Gomez and Bieber were on-off for around eight years before they finally separated once and for all in 2018.
Bieber married Hailey later on in that year.
There had been rumors that Hailey and Selena were involved in a dispute over their respective romantic attachments to Bieber, but Hailey quashed that in a 2022 interview, stating it was ‘all love’ between the pair.
