Kanye West has been spotted in Europe wearing a series of very bizarre face masks, prompting a flood of reactions and memes on social media.
As reported by The Independent, the 44-year-old rapper has been spotted in Berlin and Venice over the weekend. Reports say that West gave a short performance at a wedding - where he took to the stage wearing an oversized jacket, Balenciaga Crocs boot, and a dark grey mask that covered his face.
In all honesty, the mask looks eerily similar to the one wore by The Front Man in Netflix's Squid Game.
According to Hype Beast, the wedding was that of Tiffany & Co. executive Alexandre Arnault and D’Estree founder Geraldine Guyot.
Other A-list guests included Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Pharrell Williams. (And yet, we're all still talking about Kanye and his masks.)
Footage from the event shows Kanye performing his hit track 'Flashing Lights' to the delighted crowd - although, we can't help but notice that the mask is affecting his vocals.
In Berlin, West - who has recently released his new album, Donda - was then photographed wearing a pale mask that obscured most of his head.
The mask became a huge talking point for fans on Twitter, with one person joking: "Kanye channeling Karl Havoc with his new mask."
Another person quipped: "Kanye in this mask might be my sprit animal".
One Twitter user even joked that Kanye actually went out "without" his mask for the first time, while another tweeted: "Kanye forgot to take his Squid Game VIP mask off."
Some Europeans also compared Kanye's pale mask to that seen in the 1960s French comedy, Fantômas:
But this is not the first time the rapper has been seen donning masks this year - and he was frequently pictured throughout the summer wearing a number of face coverings while promoting his new album.
Back in February, it was announced that Kanye and Kim Kardashian would be divorcing after seven years of marriage.
TMZ reportedly last week that recently filed documents showed that Kim would be keeping the $60 million Hidden Hills estate that the couple shared together. The outlet described the decision as "significant", as "most of the construction and design was spearheaded by Kanye".
