Kate Beckinsale has shocked viewers after bizarrely claiming her daughter Lily’s boyfriend laid not one, but two fully formed hard-boiled eggs.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote her latest film, the 52-year-old actress admitted she initially thought the boyfriend was seeking attention, until she learned the mysterious objects that had passed through his body had “a shell” and “a yolk” when cracked open.
Understandably confused, Kimmel asked for clarification. “An egg came out of his body?” he asked.
According to Beckinsale, that’s exactly what happened. “Not out of his mouth or ears, it came out the route that it would come out of a hen,” she explained.
“Well, not his vagina. He went to the bathroom and was very surprised to find that he had laid an egg,” she added.

Kimmel pressed further to confirm it wasn’t something involving his testicles, which Beckinsale denied.
She recalled the boyfriend’s reaction the first time: “He was genuinely scared, and he was like, ‘It’s got a full shell, it’s got a yolk, it’s the size of a bird,’” she said, to which a shocked Kimmel shouted: “WHAT? He cracked it?”
Beckinsale then admitted that she also had her doubts. “I thought at first, okay, this is a little bit embellished, obviously, this doesn’t happen, right?” she said. “There was a lot going on in my family, so I went, ‘Okay, your boyfriend’s laid an egg, whatever.’”
But then, a week later, her daughter texted her that it had happened again. “I did [believe him] because he was so scared!” she told Kimmel.

A very personal mystery - and some graphic proof
Naturally, the family began sharing theories, because as the Underworld star put it, humans don’t lay eggs.
She confronted him directly: “Is this some kind of attention-seeking? Are you putting eggs up your bottom?” she asked.
But she quickly added, “I think it’s quite hard to put an egg up your bottom and then get it out whole without injuring the egg. I mean, I think that’s a skill.”
That was enough for Kimmel to joke, “You could be on America’s Got Talent with a skill like that.”
To back up her claim, Beckinsale whipped out her phone and showed the supposed egg photos to Kimmel and Guillermo, though the audience wasn’t allowed a peek. “I’m not showing you because it’s a little bit gross,” she said. “It’s quite medical.”
Kimmel’s reaction said it all: “What in the world…?” before the show bleeped his next words. “Your daughter’s boyfriend is the Easter Bunny, there’s no other way to explain this!”
Doctors are baffled… and so is the internet
Beckinsale revealed that the family reached out to several doctors, who passed the strange story among colleagues.
“All of them basically said it was some sort of complicated masturbation thing, which it wasn’t,” she insisted.
She even questioned whether sleep medication might’ve led to the strange situation. “Have you taken something where you’re just shoving [food]?” she asked him. But no - no Ambien involved.
Beckinsale then ended the story on a warm note. “It’s my favorite thing he’s ever done, and I really like him anyway.”
Kimmel agreed the tale was unforgettable. “We’ve been doing this show for a very long time. I don’t know if we’ve had a stranger story [than that],” he said, before apologizing for running out of time to talk about her film. “You really kick ass in it.”
But viewers online weren’t all convinced. “She knows exactly what's she's doing here,” one commented on YouTube.
“She's either had a bet with someone to talk this nonsense, or she's just on a proper wind-up.” Another added: “I refuse to believe we're not living in an adlib.”
A fourth reacted: "Wow, I never thought it was possible to be confused concerned disbelieving, scared, joyful, surprised, and confused at the same time."
