Katy Perry shared that she has essentially been mistaken for herself while at mother and baby classes with her daughter. The 38-year-old 'Roar' singer, who shares two-year-old daughter Daisy Dove with her fiancé Orlando Bloom, explained that the other moms in the group often say she "looks just like Katy Perry."

In an interview with The Cut on Monday, Perry explained: "We do a lot of mommy-and-me classes. This morning, I was with her at a ballet class, and this woman goes, 'Oh my god, you look so much like Katy Perry.'

"And I was like, 'Hi, nice to meet you. I care about my kid and take her to classes', I’ve become a member at all the museums - we go to the zoo, the Natural History Museum, the kids' museum. That’s my new club.

"People do recognize me, but by the time they’re like, 'Is that …? Was that …?' I’m already gone."

But Perry does have a doppelgänger of her own. In December 2020, Perry revealed she used to pretend to be actor Zooey Deschanel when she was "broke" and first moved to LA nearly 20 years ago.

In fact, Deschanel appears in Perry's music video for 'Not the End of the World', and following the video's premiere, the two took part in an Instagram live, where Perry confessed to impersonating the New Girl actress.

Perry said: "When I moved to L.A. maybe 18 years ago... I was pretty much a nobody, and you were like just getting so huge at that time, it was like Zooey Deschanel ran the world. In that moment, I was so complimented to look like you.

"But I have to admit something to you. When I first got to L.A., I went to the club. A lot. And I wanted to get into the club, but I had no money, I had no clout, I had nothing, and sometimes I would pose as you to get into the club."

But as it turns out, Deschanel was already aware of the 'I Kissed a Girl' singer's antics.

She responded: "Well, I know this, because people were like, ‘I saw you!’ But I’m such a goody two-shoes, and as people kept going like, ‘I saw you out! I made eye contact with you,’ and I was like, ‘No!’

"Then everybody kept telling me about this girl Katy, ‘Katy who looks just like you,’ and I’m like, ‘Who is this Katy?’ And then when I first met you, I was so relieved because you’re so pretty, and I was like, ‘Oh, thank God. She’s so pretty.’

"You never know when people say you look like somebody, what they’re going to look like. But I was like, ‘Oh my God, she’s so gorgeous, thank you, compliment.'”
