Kris Jenner has spoken about her recent facelift and why she chose to embrace a "refresh" as part of her version of aging gracefully.
The 69-year-old Kardashian matriarch and renowned momager is Vogue Arabia's September cover star.
In an exclusive interview with the outlet, which was published on August 26, Jenner opened up about her cosmetic procedure that had garnered significant attention from fans earlier this year.
"I had a facelift about 15 years ago, so it was time for a refresh," she said, addressing the public curiosity surrounding her enhanced look.
"I decided to do this facelift because I want to be the best version of myself, and that makes me happy. Just because you get older, it doesn’t mean you should give up on yourself," she explained.
The mom-of-six emphasized that her approach to aging is deeply personal. “If you feel comfortable in your skin and you want to age gracefully - meaning you don't want to do anything - then don't do anything. But for me, this is aging gracefully. It’s my version,” she shared.
Acknowledging the role of renowned New York City plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Levine in her transformation, Jenner expressed why she believes it’s important to be transparent about cosmetic procedures.
"I decided to reveal some details because I feel it can be very inspirational to people who aren't feeling so great about themselves," she said. "Even when I had my hip replacement, we filmed it. I have the conviction that sharing these things can be helpful."
As she nears her 70th birthday in November, the reality TV star reflected on her personal health journey: “I don’t know what 70 is supposed to feel like, but I feel great and I’m happy to be there."
Jenner’s candidness about her facelift follows a growing trend of celebrities discussing their cosmetic procedures.
This openness has been praised for challenging unrealistic beauty standards, particularly those amplified on social media.
In 2021, Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Daniel Barrett praised Hollywood stars who are transparent about the work they've had done.
"Many celebrities look good naturally, but many also have work done. And when they're not honest about it, I think they're being unethical because they're in the spotlight," he told USA TODAY. "They're benefitting from being a celebrity and have a moral obligation to be transparent about anything they've had done that helps them achieve a certain look."
Jenner’s daughters, including Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian, have also been vocal about their own cosmetic procedures.
The Kylie Cosmetics founder recently sparked a viral conversation when she revealed the specifics of her breast augmentation in a TikTok comment.
"445 cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle!!!!! silicone!!! garth fisher!!! hope this helps lol," she wrote.
This followed a previous admission from the 28-year-old during a 2023 episode of The Kardashians, where she confessed: "I had beautiful breasts [before giving birth to her first child, Stormi]. Natural tits. Just gorgeous. Perfect size, perfect everything. And I just wish, obviously, I never got them done to begin with," per Vogue.
Khloé Kardashian also addressed speculation about her cosmetic treatments after an aesthetician commented on her transformation, stating: “She looks dramatically different from a few years ago. And whether you see it as a glow-up or glam makeover, there's no denying she’s created a bold new look for herself.”
Khloé responded with a lighthearted comment, saying: “In 2025, there are many other things we can do before surgery. But when it's time, and if I choose to, I know some great doctors.”
