Leonardo DiCaprio's new girlfriend wasn't born when he was breaking hearts in Titanic, which was released in 1997.
It's no secret that DiCaprio has a certain type of woman that he likes when it comes to romantic relationships - and by a certain type, I mean under the age of 30.
Over the years, the A-list actor has been romantically linked with a parade of gorgeous models and actresses, including Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, Miranda Kerr, Blake Lively, Demi Moore, and Kelly Rohrbach, to name just a few.
DiCaprio's dating pattern has become a recurring punchline in Tinseltown, often invoking laughter from comedians who can't resist poking fun at his penchant for youthful paramours.
It's no secret that many of Leo's relationships tend to fizzle out just as his partners approach their late twenties.
Adding fresh fuel to the fire, the 48-year-old acting megastar recently unveiled his latest love interest: 25-year-old Italian model Vittoria Ceretti. The couple made a public appearance together, looking affectionate as ever, after attending a Halloween party in Los Angeles over the weekend.
While many of Leo's fans are delighted to see him embark on a new romance, the internet, as expected, dived straight into making jokes about the new relationship.
Reddit has been buzzing with people offering their thoughts, as one person penned: "Something tells me things will cool off in a few months when someone has a birthday and becomes too old for him."
A second person added: "How does he have the energy for this I’m younger than both of them and I’m dead after 10pm."
Another user was quick to point out that Ceretti was born in 1998, after the release date of Titanic.
So while DiCaprio was becoming a heartthrob for millions around the world, his now girlfriend wasn't even crawling around.
One user joked: "I can't believe that 7-year-old me watching the Titanic in 1998 thought I would always be too young for Leo, even when I became an adult. Now, in 2023, it turns out I am an adult... and I'm too old."
But as many on the Reddit forums have pointed out - while many think his relationships are odd, there isn't anything sinister at play.
One person said: "Why do you people act like a 25 year old is a child/teenager? Seems kind of disrespectful to tell a 25 year old grown woman she isn't developed enough to be able to choose her partners on her own."
Say what you want about DiCaprio - but at least he's consistent.
