Friends star Matthew Perry has sparked concerns for his health among fans after new images of the actor emerged on social media.
The actor, 52, was photographed in Los Angeles while out on a coffee run with a friend. He was seen chain-smoking as he collected a Starbucks coffee, The Sun reports.
Wearing a black t-shirt and white shorts, the actor arguably looked physically unkempt and out of breath on the trip.
According to an onlooker, the actor purchased a venti Frappuccino with whipped cream.
However, after New York Post shared photographs of the actor on the outing with the headline: "Unkempt Matthew Perry wears baggy shorts, T-shirt on coffee run", many fans on Twitter jumped to his defense.
One wrote: "Matthew Perry it's in self-destruct mode. I am 4 months older than him and he looks like my dad."
Another defended the star, adding: "I don't understand. Is he hurting someone? Seems like he's just existing. He's allowed to do that."
However, a third rushed to his defense, writing: "I don't see an issue. This guy is literally just existing. Am I supposed to have some opinion about the fact that he's getting older, so he's looking older???? [sic]"
A fourth remarked: "Jesus he's looking a bit rough."
A fifth agreed, writing: "Unfortunately it looks like he's experiencing some dark days… he's been through the worst, the acting industry, he'll get through anything!"
A sixth wrote: "He looks like he could use a friend…"
This is not the first time that Perry has sparked health concerns among fans, and people feared for the actor's health after he appeared to slur his words during a promotional interview for the Friends reunion special.
However, following the speculation about what was causing the actor's slurred speech, The Sun reported that it was the result of the actor having undergone emergency dental work.

A source said at the time: "Matthew turned up to the reunion and members of his team said that he had an emergency tooth procedure that day.
"That was said to impact his wellbeing and also how he was feeling. He had been in pain from what we understand, which caused the slurred speech.
"Obviously no one wants to film after a procedure, but it happened. The feeling was one of huge sympathy for Matthew especially in recent days given how people have reacted online."
"Matthew has told those around him that he is sober, and there is no need to worry," the source added.
