Meghan Markle defended after Easter video of Archie and Lilibet highlighted a 'sad' issue
Fans of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have defended the couple after the Easter videos they shared of their children were claimed to show a "sad" detail.
Since 2020, Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, have been living in Montecito, California, after stepping down from their royal roles and moving from the UK citing safety concerns.
The couple has made a life for themselves in the US, raising their two children - Archie, six, and Lilibet, four.
Meghan occasionally shares glimpses of their lives on social media, including a sweet series of videos showing how the family celebrated Easter together.
As well as feeding their chickens and collecting fresh eggs from the coop, Meghan included a series of videos of the children doing an egg hunt in the garden.
Archie was seen wearing a blue shirt and long trousers, while Lilibet wore a pink dress, bunny ears, and bare feet as they raced around the large yard looking for chocolate eggs.
In another clip, Lilibet could be seen carrying two full baskets of Easter treats including books as they walked over a small bridge over a little stream with a black dog following closely behind.
Archie was also seen colouring in an egg using pens and a spinning egg decorating toy to make his own unique design.
While the videos showed the kids having an amazing time, some commenters claimed there was a "sad" detail in the clips - that the kids did not have any friends with them for the day.
One commented: "The thing that is tellingly sad? The kids have no friends around and never even interact with each other. Good on you Meghan for showing what an isolated life they live."
Others added: "Isolated from all of their cousins, all of their aunts and all of their uncles. What sad holidays," and: "Pity , kids are going to grow up loners."
Another wrote: "You call festivities when it’s just isolated kids? Can’t even hear the parents in the background. Just the granny."
However, many defended the couple, writing: "i love they can just be kids and enjoy walking barefoot," and: "they are happy and free."
Others added: "They’re living such a magical life in their Montecieto Kingdom and I love that for them," and: "Aww such a sweet happy childhood. Cute stuff. Princess Lilibeth walks like her mama."
Another commented: "What a beautiful life they lead. Princess Lilibet is so tall, just like her Grandmother, Princess Diana."
While there did not appear to be other children present for this particular egg hunt, it was just a very small snippet of the whole Easter weekend.
Meghan and Harry have previously spoken about wanting to keep their children private, and while they do give fans small glimpses of their son and daughter, they make sure to only show the backs of their children's heads to protect their privacy.
