Renowned influencer and sports commentator Mia Khalifa has just joined OnlyFans, in what she calls an attempt to "take back power."

For those unaware, OnlyFans is a subscription site that allows fans of various different forms of media to pay monthly installments to their favorite content creators.

The former adult film actress seemingly spilled the beans on her venture on her official Instagram account on Friday (September 18).

Uploading a picture of herself dining on sushi while using her laptop, Mia captioned her post: "I have a full time job... as an accountant. [sic]" However, her fans couldn't help but notice that the OnlyFans homepage was prominently displayed on her Macbook screen.

Her Onlyfans account was launched not long after, charging subscribers at a rate of $11.99 (£9.28) per month.

Khalifa kept the description of her page laconic, stating that she'd be providing: "SFW content, kinda."

Mia recently discussed her former career choices in this interview:

Addressing her many fans, Mia later wrote:

"THANK YOU SO F***ING MUCH for supporting me on this new and exciting platform. I am finally growing into my self-confidence in who I am and the decisions I make for me, and this is my way of being myself outside the perimeters of conventional social media.

"Even though I will not be creating nude content, I am going to be treating this page like my Instagram without terms of service lol.

"I want to take my power back and just post what I want and what makes me feel good, and I'm just so thankful that y'all are along for this wild ride. [sic]

"This is all very new to me, I've never been on a platform as fan-facing, so any suggestions for improving my presence here is greatly appreciated! I love you!"

Mia has made a grand total of 16 posts as of the time of writing, with even more content expected to follow. So if you've got the cash and want to see what she's up to, then why not visit her page and subscribe to her?

Earlier this year, Mia was extremely open and candid with the public regarding the long-lasting impact that her three-month stint in the adult entertainment industry had on her life.

In 2014, the then 21-year-old starred in 11 adult movies over a three-month period, something that she says still haunts her to this day.

Khalifa swiftly became one of the most well-known adult film actresses in the world, yet maintains that she only made $12,000 from her time in the industry.

Recently, she took to TikTok to discuss the continued impact of those three months on her life to this day.

You can watch the video below:

"That hourly dissociative attack from remembering hundreds of millions of people's only impression of you is solely based on the lowest, most toxic, most uncharacteristic three months of your life when you were 21." She wrote.

In a follow-up tweet, she added:

"I just want B*angbros to stop actively putting me in harm's way by promoting my 6-year-old videos like they're new, making millions of ppl think I'm still active. The death threats are emotionally crippling, I haven't felt safe even going to the grocery store alone in years."

At the time of writing, more than 1.8 million people have signed a Justice For Mia Khalifa petition on change.org.

The petition aims to have her videos removed and her domain names returned to her.
