When it comes to celebrities who divide opinion, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who does it quite like Mia Khalifa. Yes, Piers Morgan would run her close, as would Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. But, when it comes to infuriating people and rubbing them up the wrong way, Khalifa is the queen.
In essence, it was this controversial nature that made her so popular in the first place. Being a former adult-actress, Mia Khalifa quickly became the world's most popular porn star after she featured in a movie in which he engaged in sexual intercourse while wearing a hijab. Understandably, the video caused shockwaves around the world, with Mia's family and her native Lebanon disowning the star and her mom and dad refusing to talk to her.
However, since leaving the industry, Khalifa has continued to cause a stir online. Now a sports presenter, she often uses her social media to cause an uproar with controversial and divisive posts.
First, there was the time when she edited her face onto the picture of Virgin Mary and, more recently, she called out one of her fans for getting her face tattooed on them.
Taking to her Instagram account, Khalifa shared the photo with her 8.2 million followers, saying;
"STOP GETTING TATTOOS OF ME. This is not by any means flattering, it is OUTRIGHT CREEPY.
"Also, I had braces for way too long to accept that uneven picket fence you’re calling a smile as decent work, my teeth are f**king perfect.
"Don’t finish it, save your money and cover this up with a tribal symbol or some other trashy tattoo you obviously already have if you’re willing to put A COMPLETE STRANGERS FACE ON YOUR BODY YOU PSYCHO. Jesus Christ"
However, in a shock move, Khalifa uploaded a transformation Tuesday photo in which she revealed that she struggled with her weight when she was younger. In the caption, Mia rubbishes rumours that her body is the result of good genes and claims that it's down to "A S*** TON OF F***ING WORK."
"Here goes my #transformationtuesday: Life is about balance. For me, it’s balancing my passion and love for food with my health.
"People ask me all the time how I eat so much and stay skinny – IT HASN’T ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY AND IT TAKES A S*** TON OF F***ING WORK.
"It’s not “good genes,” or a “young metabolism.” It’s 5 days grinding in the gym every f***ing week so I can go on a guilt free culinary excursion every few months and be able to drown my protein in a creamy morel sauce without looking like an offensive tackle for the Washington Redskins.
"Anyways, the point is, work hard, eat carbs. "
It's a rare case of Mia being genuine and showing what she was like before all the fame, money and attitude. However, given that it's Mia Khalifa, don't be surprised if she uploads another divisive post in the near future.
