Miley Cyrus reveals huge lie she told Liam Hemsworth about her virginity for nearly 10 years

Miley Cyrus isn’t holding back.

The pop superstar spilled intimate details about her early romantic life, her marriage to Liam Hemsworth, and a decade-old lie during a revealing sit-down with Alexandra Cooper on Barstool Sports’ “Call Her Daddy” podcast.

Cyrus, who’s never been shy about sharing her truth, revealed that two of her earliest hookups were with girls. But it wasn’t until she was 16 that she said she “went all the way” - with her future ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth.

“I didn’t go all the way with a dude [until] I was 16,” she said. “But I ended up marrying the guy, so that’s pretty crazy.”

She lied about her first time with Hemsworth

Despite Hemsworth being her first, Cyrus admitted she lied to him at the time to avoid feeling embarrassed.

“I couldn’t think of anyone so I just made somebody up that I knew but we’d never actually had sex before,” she shared. “[Hemsworth’s] friend ended up marrying him, so then he was like, ‘Now my friend is marrying someone you’ve hooked up with.’ So then ― when I was like 24 ― I had to say that I lied when I was 16.”

The pop star called it “a lie that I held on to” for nearly a decade. The mix-up eventually caught up with her when Hemsworth connected the dots years later, forcing her to come clean.

Her first hookups were with girls

Before she ever dated Nick Jonas or Hemsworth, Cyrus said she was already exploring her sexuality - with girls.

“I was like 11 or 12, my friends were starting to tell me what they were doing with guys and I didn’t really understand it ― so I got most of my girlfriends to hook up with me,” she explained.

“The first time I ever hooked up with anyone was with a girl - two of them,” Cyrus added, sharing that those encounters went “past first base.”

Cyrus and Hemsworth first got together in 2010, later marrying in 2018 before separating less than a year later in August 2019.

“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep for Cyrus told People back then. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.”

The statement also noted that the pair “still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart.”

Both moved on after their split

After the breakup, Cyrus briefly dated Kaitlynn Carter, followed by a 10-month relationship with Australian singer Cody Simpson. Meanwhile, Hemsworth was romantically linked to Australian actor Maddison Brown and later to model Gabriella Brooks.

The two have remained in the public eye separately, but this latest podcast appearance reminded fans just how intertwined their history really is.
