I don't know about you guys, but there's nothing that gets my heart a-flutter quite like a secret celebrity wedding.
While getting to see the guests, ceremony and adorable wedding photos are always delightful, there's always something special about two people in love getting married in secret, and you always get the slow drip of details that comes with not everything being known right away.
Take, for example, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth.
These two lovebirds had been threatening to tie the knot for quite a while, mind you, but nobody saw them getting married in secret toward the end of last year. Luckily for us, Miley thought to share some of the wedding photos on her Instagram page, but there wasn't really much in terms of food.
Thankfully, Billy Ray Cyrus gave us a glimpse of the wedding cake otherwise I would've had a nervous breakdown, but you can't just eat wedding cake at a wedding, can you? Nope, there definitely was a wedding menu for the low-key event, and with both Liam and Miley both big fans of animal rights, you can bet your bottom dollar it was all plant based.
But, speaking to the lovely folks at E! News during the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year gala, Miley gave us a little bit more insight into the food served at her wedding. She had but one request for the food there. It wasn't extravagant, it certainly wasn't big, but it was super relatable.
"Literally, vegan chicken and dumplings," Miley explained to Justin Sylvester, who was interviewing her at the time. She's pretty low-key, is Miley Cyrus (as you might've guessed from her intimate wedding), and she revealed that it was the only thing about the wedding she insisted on. Well, that and being married to Liam Hemsworth.
"I would do anything for dumplings. You could add nothing else. I didn't even need a dress; I was trying to wear leggings and a hoodie. I just wanted dumplings, that's all."
Me too, Miley. Me too. Don't tell me that they're not appropriate for a wedding; who could resist those delicious fried bits on what's meant to be the happiest day of my life? Not I. In that same interview, Miley's mom Tish Cyrus explained that although her daughter's married, it's been business as usual, as Liam has slotted right into the Cyrus family.
"Liam has been a part of our family for so long. They've been together since she was 16 years old. So it's like, it's almost like not a lot different, I mean it is a little bit but it's really not because he's just a part of our family for so long that sometimes I actually kinda forget it happened until somebody asks, and then I'm like, 'Oh, yeah, that did happen!'"

Well, isn't that sweet? They've only been married a few months, but I'm sure this couple has many happy times (and dumplings) ahead.
