Rihanna's appearance on the Met Gala 2025 red carpet left fans abuzz as the Grammy-winning singer, 37, confirmed she was pregnant with her third baby.

The star showcased her growing bump in a black pinstriped skirt made of a jacket with a bustle fashioned from folded blazer sleeves, with a similar striped bodysuit and a black cropped tuxedo jacket.

She topped off the look with a white collar and spotted cravat, completed with a large, black, statement wide-brimmed hat and used the occasion to announce she and A$AP Rocky, 36, are expecting their third child together.

The couple already have sons RZA, two, and Riot, one, having famously revealed her second pregnancy during her 2023 Super Bowl Halftime show.

The couple, who have been together since 2020, debuted their first pregnancy with a photoshoot in New York in January 2022.

But Rihanna's big reveal was almost ruined by Shakira, who appeared to spill the beans just before the star arrived.

The 48-year-old 'Hips Don't Lie' star was speaking to reporters on the red carpet when she dropped a clanger.

Speaking to NBC News, Shakira said that Rihanna was who she was "most excited" to see on the night, exclaiming: "I want to see Rihanna! I want to see her so bad. And I just heard the news too."

When the reporter expressed confusion at what she meant, Shakira clarified: "She's pregnant!"

Her face then fell in horror as she realized what she'd done, and threw her hands to her face as she asked: "Am I not supposed to say that?"

Shakira then awkwardly laughed and walked away from the interview, before Rihanna finally confirmed the news when she walked the red carpet with her bump showcased in her tailored outfit.

Rumors of Rihanna being pregnant again had already surfaced prior to the event, when she was photographed arriving at the Carlyle Hotel with her baby bump visible out of her grey shirt.

Rocky, who was one of the co-hosts of the event and who'd arrived hours earlier than his bae, also confirmed the news in an interview with Good Morning America.

He told the reporter: "It feels amazing! It's time to show the people what we've been cooking up.

"And I'm glad everyone is happy for us, because we are definitely happy."

Rihanna had previously opened up about her desire to have more children, especially if she ended up having a daughter.

She told Interview Magazine last year: "I don’t know what god wants, but I would go for more than two.

"I would try for my girl. But of course if it’s another boy, it’s another boy."

In the same interview, she also admitted she'd gotten "lazy" with dressing herself after having her second baby, explaining: "It’s more like I spend my time getting the kids dressed to death, and then I’m like, 'What’s the most comfortable outfit to wear around them? What’s not going to feel uncomfortable on their face or on their body or make me feel like I can’t hold them properly?' Moms are lazy dressers in real life."
