Ne-Yo has opened up about how he makes his controversial relationship with four women work.

The singer, 45, left fans baffled after he revealed last year that he was dating four women at the same time.

He opened up about his non-monogamous relationship with his four ladies - Cristina, Arielle, Moneii, and Bri - after being inundated with questions from his fans.

He previously revealed on the Angie Martinez Show that his partners do not date anyone else but him, but that is not a rule he enforced upon them.

He explained: "When I got with these women, I did not ask for their exclusivity.

"I did not demand their exclusivity. They asked for it. They came to me and said, 'I want to be exclusive to you and just you.'”

Ne-Yo revealed that he was upfront that he would not be reciprocating that, adding: "'You understand that your exclusivity to me does not mean my exclusivity to you. You understand this?’ ‘Yes.’ ‘You’re okay with this?’ ‘Yes.’

"Okay cool, since you are offering your exclusivity and I’m taking it, now there’s rules that I need you to follow."

He delved further into the dynamic recently while appearing on Kai Cenat’s livestream, explaining that his focus is doing what it best for him and his children, and his unit as a whole.

When asked if there were ever any complications in being in a relationship with so many people at the same time, Ne-Yo explained: "Well yeah, there are complications when there is just two people in a relationship so of course there is going to be when you are with four."

When asked if he tends to get annoyed at all of his girlfriends when one of them has irked him, he admitted that - similarly to the dynamic in a friend group - there may be times when he simply might not react how he normally would to another member, though he does his best to control his emotions.

Dating four different people can come with its perks, as Ne-Yo shared what he loved most about each of his girlfriends.

He said: “One is more serious than everyone else, she is the reliable one. If I walk out the house and forget something, she has got it.

“I have one that I laugh with all the time, everything is funny all day long, that is just what she does.

“I have my rider, this is the one if I was getting jumped she would jump in and help me.

“And then I have my eclectic, she is the dancer, she is my artist. So everyone has their own thing and it works, it works perfectly."

Non-monogamy definitely isn't for everyone, but it seems like Ne-Yo and his girlfriends have found what works for them.
