Anaconda rapper, Nicki Minaj, may have just confirmed that she's pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Kenneth Petty, who she wed last October, after more than a year together.
While answering a Twitter Q&A on Thursday, Nicki quickly got tongues a-wagging. After one fan asked if she's been busy cooking while in quarantine, Nicki responded that she's experienced cravings for red meat and salad with "extra jalapeños."
"Absolutely. Steak. Shrimp. Plus my famous cheeseburgers. So good. Been rlly having red meat cravings then salad cravings with extra jalapeños. Ordered Chkn nachos that didn’t come w/jalapeños. Who does that? Wow," she wrote.
Fans quickly surmised that the rapper must be pregnant. "Cravings?? OMG ARE YOU PREGNANT YASSS [sic]," wrote one fan, while another corroborated "NOT U HAVING CRAVINGS SIS UHHHH UHHH MRS. PETTY IS PREGNANT [sic]."
One Twitter user then proceeded to ask whether Nicki happened to be contending with morning sickness. "Lmao," she replied. "No throwing up. But nausea and peeing non stop. Omg what do u think this means guys???? Lmaooooooooooo"
She then said that people would have to wait a "couple months" for a baby bump reveal, "The world ain't ready yet," she teased.
"We're very close as friends, 'cause we've known each other since we were kids, but also, we're so sexually attracted to each other," Nicki said of her relationship with Petty prior to their marriage, in an interview with E! News. "People can say all they want, 'Love is not about looks,' or 'Physical attraction'. Yeah right, if you're not physically attracted to that person, bye."
And in another interview, the 37-year-old spoke about her wish of becoming a mother. Back in 2014, she told Vogue Italia: "I have given myself a time limit to take my professional satisfaction. I do not want to work all my life and never experience the joys of a family. It is not time yet, but when I decide to get married and become a mother I would like to take a break and devote myself completely to my child."
