People cannot get enough of Zac Efron's thick beard in new Netflix show

After news emerged last month that Zac Efron would be fronting a new Netflix travel series, last week the day finally came that the Hollywood movie star and his excellent new bard landed on the streaming platform.

To some, Efron is perhaps best known as the all-dancing, all-singing teen heartthrob Troy Bolton from the smash hit High School Musical series. Yet since then, he has gone on to star in a wide array of box office hits, films such as 17 Again, Neighbors, Baywatch, The Greatest Showman and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, among many others.

And now, Efron has added yet another string to his bow of talents, after the announcement came that he would be releasing his own travel docuseries on Netflix, Down to Earth with Zac Efron.

A Netflix synopsis of the show reads: "Actor Zac Efron journeys around the world with wellness expert Darin Olien in a travel show that explores healthy, sustainable ways to live."

The series sees the actor travel to France, Puerto Rico, Iceland, London, Costa Rica, Lima, Sardinia and Iquitos. He also eats insects and 'dung-smoked' delicacies.

And one aspect of the show made waves with fans before the episodes were even available to watch, namely Zac Efron's stunning new beard. To say that Twitter was excited by it would be an understatement.

"Zac Efron really looks so good with a beard." One fan wrote alongside a montage of pictures that confirmed the statement true beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Earlier this year, Zac posted a message to Instagram in celebration of Earth day. He wrote;

"Happy Earth Day! I have always been in awe of the magic and mystery of Mother Nature. Exploring the unknown has always been a true passion in my life and now, more than ever, I realize how important it is to take care of our planet, our people and every living thing we share it with. Please be safe, be healthy and be kind to one another."
