We're barely into summer 2018 and the drama is well and truly kicking off. Well, it is in the world of Ariana Grande, at least. First, the One Last Time singer broke off her relationship with rapper Mac Miller, then she started dating Saturday Night Live actor Pete Davidson, then the new couple - who had only been dating for three weeks - only went and got engaged. Anyone else feeling like they've got a bit of whiplash?

It sure is action-packed in the world of celeb gossip these days - and it seems that the theatrics are only just beginning. The latest on the agenda? Pete's ex-girlfriend's reaction to news of his engagement to Ariana.

It appears that Carly Aquilino - who dated Pete back in 2014 - has thrown shade at the whirlwind romance with a seemingly snarky post on her Instagram stories. Shortly after the news broke, she took to the social media site to share a screenshot of a text conversation with a friend who informed her of Pete's new relationship status.

Her friend had written "I know I'm the 9 billionth person to text you about this, but.. I can't." To which Carly had replied "HAHHAHAHAAH". Over the top of the chat, Carly - who is a stand-up comedian and MTV personality on the show Girl Code - wrote "MY DAY IN A TEXT MESSAGE".

Kind of sketchy stuff, right? Then again, if everyone was texting you about your ex-boyfriend getting ready to tie the knot, wouldn't you feel the same?

So what about Pete's most recent ex? The comedian dated Cazzie David on and off from May 2016 to May 2016, seemingly splitting with her only just over a month before proposing to his new fiancé, so she must have something to say about the situation, right?

Wrong! It turns out Cazzie is way too busy living her best life to comment. The same day news of the engagement broke, the actress took to Instagram to post a picture of herself drinking red wine in the Franschhoek Wine Valley in South Africa. "Came here a person, leaving a human bottle of wine," she captioned the image.

There has been no word from Ariana's ex-boyfriend Mac Miller - who dated her for two years - on the matter so far. However, it has been reported that the rapper is "devastated" by the news of his former partner tying the knot with another man.

"Mac is devastated that Ariana may have become engaged to her new boyfriend, he doesn't want to believe it," a source close to him reportedly said. "He is still broken hearted over their split and he can't imagine how she could move on so quickly, or fall in love already. It hurts Mac to think Ariana is considering marrying someone she barely knows. Mac loved Ariana for years, and it is like a punch in the gut to him that she would agree to marry someone new, after only dating them for a few weeks, and so soon after breaking up with him. Mac is crushed."

So, the relationship drama continues. What's next? Who knows, all we know is that it's going to be an interesting summer.
