Gabourey Sidibe is a proud new mom!

The Oscar nominee, 41, and her husband, Brandon Frankel, have welcomed twins—a boy named Cooper and a girl named Maya—in early April. The happy news was first shared by The Shade Room, alongside adorable photos of the new family.

In the pictures, Sidibe and Frankel are seen snuggling close, each holding one of their babies. Sidibe radiates joy in a vibrant orange dress as she cuddles her little ones outside.

Other shots show Frankel, in a red beanie, kissing their newborn daughter while Sidibe rests her head on his shoulder, cradling their baby boy.

"Brandon always wanted to name a son Cooper, so we call him 'Coop,' and Maya was named shortly before our baby moon to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico," Sidibe told Shutterstock. "Both twins have traditional West African middle names after members of my family."

"They're both extremely strong and hilarious, though they have yet to really interact with each other," Sidibe added.

"Cooper will sometimes speak for Maya and alert us that she's about to spit up. Maya loves her name being sung to her and is the queen of comedic timing, and Cooper loves his sleep and has the funniest facial expressions. They both love cuddling with Mom and Dad."

Although the couple was eagerly awaiting their twins' arrival, the birth came as a surprise.

"We originally were going in for a routine appointment, only to be told the twins would be coming later that day and not when originally planned," Sidibe shared. Now, as they embrace their new roles, the actress is excited for all the little moments.

"We're excited for outfits and getting them dressed up, for sing-alongs, trips and to explore, and raising them to be good people," she said.

Sidibe first announced her pregnancy with twins on Instagram in February.

In a series of photos, she donned a bright pink dress and posed with her husband, lovingly cradling her baby bump. The post also included images of the couple pushing twin strollers and and gazing at themselves in the mirror.

"I’m pregnant! We thought it was time to give our cats some responsibility, so we’re giving them each a baby to take care of!" Sidibe wrote in her caption. "Double the babies, double the cats, double the fun!! Twin Delivery coming soon! Twinty Twinty Four!!"
