The 40-year-old 'Fireworks' hitmaker paid a visit to the famed wildlife sanctuary, where she received a personal tour from none other than Robert Irwin, the 21-year-old son of the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin.

During the outing, the two bonded over native Australian wildlife, including a kangaroo, koala, and wombat, but it was their impromptu dance that stole the spotlight.

In a light-hearted video shared to social media, Perry invited Irwin for a quick spin on the dance floor.

“I heard Robert Irwin was going to be on Dancing With The Stars, so I thought maybe we should do a practice run here at the Australia Zoo,” she joked. “I love it! I'm ready!” he responded, eagerly taking Perry's hands and leading her into a waltz.

But things took a turn when the 'Teenage Dream' singer suggested a classic dip, only for Irwin to accidentally drop her.

Perry ended up sprawled on the floor, laughing it off with a quip: “Maybe stick to the animals.”

The playful moment between the pair comes just months before Irwin is set to make his official dancing debut.

In April, the wildlife conservationist became the first high-profile name announced for the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars, which is slated to premiere this fall.

“All I can say is crikey,” he told DWTS judge Derek Hough, per News.com.au. “Mate, I cannot tell you what an honor, what a privilege it is to be joining this season. I am over the moon. Let’s do this.”

Irwin isn’t the first member of the Irwin family to compete on the popular dance competition, as his older sister, Bindi, now 26, took home the mirrorball trophy in 2015 alongside her professional partner, Hough.

Speaking to The Project back in 2019, Bindi described the show’s challenges, saying, “It's such a challenge. I don't think people realize how much work goes on behind the scenes; it's a huge commitment.”

During her emotional stint on the show, Bindi performed in front of a black-and-white portrait of their late father, Steve Irwin.

Following the announcement of her brother's casting, the proud sister took to social media to show her support.

“Robert, you are going to absolutely shine in the ballroom. I wish I could express the magnitude of how proud I am of you and everything you have achieved,” she wrote, per Daily Mail. “Can't wait to cheer you on each week as you inspire so many with your strength, kindness, and determination. Here's to an extraordinary journey ahead.”

As Irwin prepares to trade wildlife for the waltz, it seems his brief rehearsal with Perry provided both a memorable moment and a lighthearted lesson in footwork.
