One of the stars from RuPaul's Drag Race has opened up about a fatal crash that recently changed their lives forever.
Morphine Love Dion, best known for their time on Season 16 of the hit drag show, took to Instagram to state that they are "grateful to be alive" after being involved in a terrifying car accident over the weekend.
On Sunday at approximately 3:30AM in Los Angeles, Dion was involved in a crash that left them with serious injuries and is currently recovering in hospital.
Five others were also injured in the accident and tragically one person lost their life after being trapped inside the vehicle.
Taking to their Instagram Stories, a representative for the 26-year-old revealed the details of the tragedy.
“Saturday night, Morphine was in a serious car accident while in an Uber. She suffered multiple injuries but is grateful to be alive. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Some space and time is appreciated as she focuses on healing," the statement read.
Alongside Dion, Canada’s Drag Race star Kaos was also in the vehicle at the time of the accident and is currently on bed rest until further notice.
“Just so everyone knows I am OK just been on bed rest. I will be making a post explaining what happened this weekend once I am in the right headspace and also can explain it all and the accident," Kaos wrote in their own statement.
"For now resting and sorry won’t be posting any dragcon stuff right now either that will come later prob next week!" they continued. "If anyone has posts or pics or stories of me with them from Dragcon I will be resharing those though as they are uplifting and making me feel positive and better!!! So feel free to share!"
Both Morphine and Kaos were in the area to attend RuPaul's DragCon LA, an annual convention where drag entertainers from around the world come together to host a meet-up.
According to Entertainment Weekly, California Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle crash at around 3:30AM local time, though other cars eventually reportedly crashed at the scene and created a pile-up.
