Rupert Grint has joined Instagram to share the first picture of his baby daughter Wednesday after he became a father earlier this year.
The actor joined the social media platform on Wednesday following the birth of his daughter, who he shares with fellow actor Georgia Groome, back in May.
"Hey Instagram....only 10 years late, but here I am [sic]," Grint, 32, captioned the post.
"Grint on the Gram! Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint. Stay safe, Rupert."
One woman sold her first edition Harry Potter book for £33,000:In the picture, the Harry Potter star can be seen wearing a baseball cap and black t-shirt while sitting in a yellow chair as Wednesday sleeps on his chest while wearing a pink onesie.
At the time of writing, the actor's first Instagram post has received over 1.7 million likes and countless comments from delighted fans.
Fellow Harry Potter star Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the hit series, also took the opportunity to welcome Grint to Instagram, per The Independent.
"Welcome Weasley , [sic] it's about time. Love to Wednesday xx," the actor wrote in reference to Grint's role as Ron Weasley in the hit wizarding films.
Felton and Grint are pictured below back in 2009 with Daniel Radcliffe, who played the film's titular character, Harry Potter.
Fans also took the opportunity to reference Grint's famous character while welcoming him to Instagram.
One wrote: "Weasley is our king! Welcome, Rupert!"
A second wrote alongside an orange heart emoji: "Welcome Mr. Weasley!"
A third added: "ANOTHER WEASLEY!"
Meanwhile, a fourth simply celebrated Grint joining Instagram, writing: "2020 making a quick turnaround."
Per the Metro, at the time of Wednesday's birth, the couple released a statement that read: "Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl.
"We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time."
Grint was the first of the three titular Harry Potter stars to become a parent.
Fans of the Harry Potter franchise were overjoyed when Grint first announced that he was expecting a baby.
One person wrote: "Awe Rupert Grint's gonna be a dad, super cute; hands down the nicest big name [sic] celebrity I've ever met! congratulations to him and Georgia!"
Another shared: "You don't understand. I've been a Rupert Grint stan for half my life and I was there since the first sighting with Georgia, through all the horrible online & in person abuse both him and Georgia had to endure over the years. 9 years and counting and now they're expecting a baby."
A third wrote: "friendly reminder that rupert grint used his harry potter cash to buy an ice cream truck, which he drives around to hand out free ice cream. he’s gonna be such a great dad [sic]."
This comes after Grint told the Guardian in a 2018 interview about turning 30 that he would like to settle down and have children in the near future. He said:
"It just doesn’t feel like I’m there yet and I don’t know what the future holds. I’m just going to go with the flow, keep playing interesting characters and see what happens. I’d like to settle down and have kids soon. If I had a son, would I call him Ron? It’s quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint’s a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with."
