Reynolds and Blake Lively, who are already parents to three daughters - James, seven, Inez, five, and Betty, two - welcomed their fourth child in February last year.

Back then, Lively shared the news with a series of photos on social media, showing her baby bump.

“Puppy Bowl Sunday 2023, been busy,” she captioned some snapshots of her family’s Super Bowl celebration.

Reynolds and Lively’s relationship began in 2010 when they met on the set of Green Lantern. They got engaged and married in 2012.

Reynolds has often spoken about prioritizing his family, which led him to take a break from Hollywood.

"The biggest thing for me, and I know you have kids as well, is that I don't want to miss this time with my kids," he told LinkedIn News Senior Editor at Large Jessi Hempel, referring to his sabbatical.

During the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere, Reynolds revealed the name of their fourth child.

“I want to start by saying thank you to my wife Blake, who is here,” he said onstage.

He continued: "I want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here. I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing — that is, the contents of this movie — that happens in your wondrous life. I love that my entire family is here.”

According to Hello! Magazine, "Olin is a Nordic name which means 'ancestor's heir,' or 'to inherit.'"

The Deadpool actor shared the gender of his baby in an Instagram post featuring himself and John Bell, a special Wrexham AFC fan who has developed a unique bond with Reynolds.

In the post, Bell spoke about his grief journey following the death of his son, Jake, who was a big Deadpool fan.

Offering his condolences, Reynolds made the surprising announcement.

“I want to share with you that I too have a son and that if … boy, John, if I love him one-tenth as much as you love Jake, I feel like I’ve done a pretty damn good job,” Reynolds said.

Bell described his late son, a fan of Reynolds’ Deadpool movies, as “so funny, so comical.”

“We did everything together. He was my firstborn son. He was just absolutely everything to me,” Bell said.

After losing his son, Bell found himself in a very dark place.

“I was planning my own death and talking myself into staying because my family needs me, my kids need me. What I do now keeps me alive daily because I’ve made my peace with death. I’m gonna be reunited with him at some point, but it damn right ain’t now,” he explained.

Reynolds praised Bell for his resilience and efforts to raise money for mental health causes.

“The resilience it takes to, you know, put one foot in front of the other as many times as you’ve done it, and transmute that much grief into something powerfully useful,” Reynolds said, adding that he was “very grateful” for Bell sharing his story.
