Ryan Reynolds recently made a discovery about his wife Blake Lively's name.

Reynolds is one of the most popular people on the planet right now, especially with the recent release of Deadpool & Wolverine.

But even without his Hollywood ventures, the actor is widely loved because of his humor, which is often at the expense of his wife.

In a playful way of course, and she gives it straight back!

Reynolds and Lively's love story began in 2010 when they met while filming Green Lantern. The couple got engaged and married in 2012.

So they've been married for over a decade, and yet it seems like the Canadian actor is only just discovering his wife's real name.

On July 31, the former Gossip Girl star announced the launch of Blake Brown Beauty, her new haircare brand.

The name left many fans, including Reynolds, puzzled.

Taking to Instagram, Reynolds expressed his admiration, saying: "I'm obscenely proud of this woman. She's been working on @blakebrownbeauty for 7 years. And the result is exactly what you'd expect of a hyper-obsessive, detail-addicted, uncompromisingly quality control genius."

Reynolds humorously added: "Also, I've just found out that her last name is Brown."

While Lively's actual name isn't Brown, it could have been.

Her parents, Ernie and Elaine Lively, wed in 1979, with Ernie adopting Elaine's surname, Lively, in place of his original name, Brown.

Ernie Lively passed away in 2021 at the age of 74 due to cardiac complications.

Responding to her husband's comments, Lively explained to her 45 million Instagram followers: "Brown is my dad's last name. He took Lively from my mom & older siblings."

She even joked: "Now that I think about it, Ryan Lively has a nice ring to it."

Reynolds and Lively have previously announced the name of their fourth child, which they kept under wraps for quite some time.

Reynolds shed light on the name of his fourth child as he attended the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere in New York on Monday, per Page Six.

“I want to start by saying thank you to my wife Blake, who is here,” he said onstage.

Reynolds continued: "I want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here. I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing — that is, the contents of this movie — that happens in your wondrous life. I love that my entire family is here.”
