Former Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland has been criticized on social media after she posted a risqué photo with her fiancé.

The trouble began last week when the TV personality posted a picture of herself making faces to the camera, along with her betrothed Wells Adams, and their friends Ashley Newborough, Matt Shively, and a few other pals.

Hyland captioned her post: "We take wedding photo booths very seriously... #mcm to the men who love and treat their ladies like queens ??[sic]"

Yet some social media users took issue with the fact that Adams and Shively could be seen actively groping their partner's breasts; criticizing the picture for seemingly promoting the objectification of women.

For example, one commenter wrote: "So classy, your parents must be so proud", while another chimed in: "In times of gender balance and women's rights and respect, we still see pics like this... we are not moving forward with such mentalities. [sic]"

However, others were more supportive of the pic. For example, one Instagram-user commented: "Whoever is really hating on this picture, grow up? They’re two consenting adults about to get MARRIED. Let them live their life and be goofy when they wanna be goofy, like damn. Sarah, you guys rock and you look beautiful. [sic]"

Meanwhile, somebody else wrote: "Wind ya necks in killjoys. It’s not an innocent victim being groped by a predator but a happy couple you know living life and having fun. By associating this with #metoo you are doing a disservice to actual victims and the meaning of the movement. Shame on you. [sic]"

Hyland and Adams have been together since 2017 and celebrated their two-year anniversary in October. They announced their engagement over the summer in a public Instagram post, and since then have rarely been seen apart.
