On Wednesday (May 7) evening, the 32-year-old singer and actress took to Instagram to share a nostalgic photo dump that included a throwback snap with Theresa Marie.
The post came just hours after eagle-eyed fans noticed that Gomez had mysteriously unfollowed her longtime friend, sparking speculation that the pair had fallen out over infidelity rumors involving Benny.
But if the post was meant to send a message, it landed. Captioning the series of photos, Gomez wrote: "Lil blast from the past because basically I’m lying horizontal rn and reminiscing bout some memories."
Among the slideshow were candid moments with old friends, including a framed picture with Taylor Swift, and most notably, a photo with Theresa.
While some fans feared Gomez had distanced herself from Theresa amid unconfirmed speculation, the nostalgic post appeared to squash any idea of bad blood.
"Selena and Theresa are still friends for everyone speculating and making rumors!!!!" one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
"Im glad that Selena cleared out her rumor with Theresa!" another reacted, while a third shared: "Selena Gomez simply ENDED the rumors that she had broken off her friendship with Theresa Mingus, for whatever reason or NONSENSE narrative, invented by people who have nothing better to do."
"She had already said that she doesn't care about the gossip that is circulating around," they added.
Gomez and Marie's friendship stretches back years. In a heartfelt Instagram tribute from 2019, Gomez celebrated Theresa with a black-and-white snap, writing: "I met Theresa 5 years ago. We worked together and became best friends."
"She has taught me how to see life in a fun, carefree and uplifting way. She has shown me how to be a strong and fearless woman. She is beautiful, kind and smart. I saw how capable she was of achieving her dreams. I wanted nothing more than to see her pursue them and soar. And here you are making it happen T," she added.
The rumored drama surfaced as the 'Love You Like A Love Song' singer continues to open up about her personal journey.
Speaking on Jessie and Lennie Ware’s Table Manners podcast, the Only Murders in the Building star got candid about her relationship with fiancé Blanco, particularly the emotional spark that marked their very first kiss.
“I hadn't liked anyone in a very long time. So some kisses are for fun, and then when you feel something behind a kiss, it's completely different,” Gomez explained, per Daily Mail. “And I'd been alone for about five years, with the exception of a few shitty dates here and there, but never felt that way. And I was a little embarrassed.”

The producer also recalled their “embarrassing” first kiss, saying: “Towards the end of the date, we were just sitting in the living room on the couch, and we were playing ‘We're Not Really Strangers’."
"And there was a thing where it said, take a selfie with the person next to you, and she got right on my chest and took a selfie. And then right after, I just looked at her, and I said, I gotta kiss this girl. And I kissed her right away," he shared.
Blanco added that Gomez's reaction was immediate and visible: “Her heart started beating so quickly, and she started getting a rash on her face, and she was so nervous.”
When host Lennie Ware asked if she was allergic, Blanco joked: “She was, yeah. I was so disgusting and repulsive.”
The couple made their relationship public in 2023, and in December, Gomez announced their engagement on Instagram, sharing a close-up of her sparkling ring with the caption: “Forever begins now.”
