Shannen Doherty has opened up about the details of her divorce process, accusing her ex of prolonging it for his own gain.

Doherty, best known for her roles in Beverly Hills, 90210, and Charmed, married Kurt Iswarienko in October 2011 after dating for almost four years prior.

While the pair seemed to be going from strength to strength, even expressing their undying love and support for each other on multiple occasions, especially through Doherty's difficult battle with cancer, in 2023, they announced that they would be splitting up.

At the time, a rep for the 53-year-old confirmed the news via a statement to PEOPLE.

"Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted," Doherty's rep, Leslie Sloane, told the outlet in a statement. "Unfortunately, she felt she was left with no other option."

Sloane also alleged that Iswarienko's agent was "intimately involved" with their divorce.

A year after the news broke, the star is claiming that her ex-husband is "prolonging the process in the hopes that she dies before he has to pay her."

Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2015 and while she received treatment for the disease, it unfortunately returned in 2020 and has now spread to her bones.

And because it's seemingly getting worse as the weeks pass, according to the actress, her ex is allegedly using this to his advantage.

“It is simply not right that Kurt be permitted to prolong our divorce in hopes that I die before he is required to pay me while he continues to live his life and shirk his responsibilities to his dying wife of more than 11 years,” she stated in the documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Iswarienko’s lawyer reportedly disputed the claim, stating that the celebrity photographer had offered a settlement deal in October 2023, proving he wanted to find a resolution, but Doherty rejected it.

“Kurt is not ‘simply wait[ing] for Shannen to die,’” attorney Katherine Heersema rebuttled. “He wants the best for Shannen and he wants both of them to be able to put this case behind them and move forward.”

Doherty claimed to have denied proposed settlements because they “skirted around the issues of his original works created during marriage” and “his earning capacity."

The star is requesting $15,434 per month in spousal support due to her losing her health insurance as well as not being able to work because of her condition, per the outlet.

Not only that, but things get messier as the 'No One Would Tell' alum also alleged that Iswarienko has access to the pair's funds, their airplane, or their marital vacation home in Texas, while she does not.

“Kurt has been utilizing the airplane, spending thousands of dollars at medical spas, jewelry stores, Gucci, and on flights… while simultaneously claiming he has insufficient funds with which to support me,” the documents read.

Let's hope the pair manage to settle their differences and reach a resolution that suits them both.
