Smallville star Tom Welling accidentally exposes himself in hotel window reflection to 2m Insta folllowers
Tom Welling, star of the hit noughties show Smallville, appeared to make a major blunder earlier this week when he accidentally posted an Instagram story photo that allegedly revealed much more than he meant to.
In the now-deleted picture, actor Tom Welling had meant to show off the view of New York’s skyline from his bedroom window, but the city’s skyscrapers weren’t the only things standing out in the image.
The actor did not delete the picture for 10 hours
Fans noticed within minutes that the image appeared to accidentally show a reflection of his naked body.
The post, which stayed on his Instagram stories for a staggering 10 hours, was captioned: “Hello NYCC”.
Understandably, the story stirred up excitable fans online and was quickly screenshotted and shared to other social media platforms.
Sharing their shock, one X user wrote: “NO WAY TOM WELLING ACCIDENTALLY POSTED HIS D**K ON HIS INSTAGRAM STORY.”
While another added: “Just going through Instagram stories at work and got flashbanged by Tom Welling posting a nude story.”
Most of the conversation surrounded how the accident occurred, with hundreds of people questioning how he did not notice that his penis was apparently visible in a picture shared to his 2.2 million followers.
One person asked: “How did he not notice his reflection on his Instagram story before sharing it?”
Another person understandably pondered: “The fact that it’s been 10 hours and is still up …”
However, disappointed fans who couldn’t spot the grave mistake complained that they “couldn’t see s**t,” while another added: “I still can’t see the penis in the Tom Welling pic, am I blind.”
The actor is is New York to celebrate 25 years of Smallville
Wellington made a name for himself playing teenage Clark Kent for all ten seasons of hit superhero show Smallville, which ran from 2001 to 2011.
The show explores Superman's life before becoming the world-famous hero. It also explores a love triangle between Clark, teenage crush Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk), and Lois Lane (Erica Durance).
It is thought that Wellington was in New York to join his Smallville castmates at NYCC for the show’s 25th anniversary panel at this year’s Comic-Con.
The actor briefly reprised the role in 2019, appearing as Clark in the TV crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths. In the reboot, it was revealed that he’d given up his powers to live a normal life with Lois Lane.
Besides his career-defining role in Smallville, Welling has also appeared in films such as Cheaper by the Dozen and The Fog, and starred as Marcus Pierce in the television series Lucifer.
The only key Smallville cast member who will not be a part of the reunion is Chloe Sullivan, played by Allison Mack, as she is facing allegations related to her involvement in the modern-day cult NXIVM.
In 2019, she pleaded guilty to racketeering and racketeering conspiracy charges and was sentenced to three years in federal prison and fined $20,000 (£15,000).
