Sofia Vergara divided Golden Globes viewers last night as she jokingly heckled Jodie Foster after losing out on an award.

Both of the stars were up for the Best Actress in a Miniseries or Motion Picture—Television award - which Foster subsequently won.

Vergara, nominated for her title role in Griselda, lost the coveted award to Foster for her performance in True Detective: Night Country.

But rather than quietly accepting defeat, Vergara made her disappointment hilariously clear.

As presenters Seth Rogen and Catherine O'Hara announced Foster as the winner, Vergara stood up and yelled, “No, no!”

Her reaction elicited a response from Foster, who said from the stage: “I know, I know.”

When the crowd’s laughter settled, Vergara could be heard shouting: “Give me one!” in reference to Foster’s remarkable fifth Golden Globe win.

Foster graciously acknowledged her fellow nominees, including Cate Blanchett (Disclaimer), Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Naomi Watts (Feud: Capote vs. the Swans), and Kate Winslet (The Regime).

She made a special effort to include Vergara in her tribute, saying: “The greatest thing about being this age and being in this time, is having a community of all of these people. Especially you, Sofía.”

During her acceptance speech, the 62-year-old actress became emotional while thanking her family, including her wife of 10 years, Alexandra Hedison, and their two children, Charlie, 26, and Kit, 23, per E! Online.

“Kit, my scientist son and Charlie, my actor son who's starting his career," Foster said. "Hopefully you understand the joy, such joy that comes from doing really hard, meaningful, good work."

She continued: "My boys, I love you and this, of course, is for you. And the love of my life, Alex. Thank you, forever.”

Following Foster’s kind words, Vergara continued to light up the evening with her energy.

As the camera panned back to her following Foster’s speech, the 52-year-old actress was seen giving a raucous round of applause before dramatically throwing her hands in the air in mock exasperation.

The moment - although light-hearted - still managed to irk some viewers, who took to X to complain about Vergara's actions.

"Don’t be a sore loser #GoldenGlobes," one person tweeted, with another branding Vergara's actions "disrespectful".

However, others loved the moment, with many of her fans expressing that Vergara should have won.

"Jodie Foster is amazing. But in a fair world, that Globe should be in Sofia’s hands," one person responded.

"It's always refreshing to see celebrities handle these moments with humor," another wrote.

In 2024, she lost the Emmy for her Griselda performance - also to Foster. After that ceremony, Vergara humorously vented her frustration in a video posted to Instagram, exclaiming: “They stole it from me. They stole it from me for the fifth time.”
