Halle Bailey, the star of The Little Mermaid, has taken to social media to announce that she has given birth to a baby boy.
Bailey, 23, proudly announced the arrival of her firstborn - a baby boy named Halo - with boyfriend DDG (whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.).
Taking to Instagram, Bailey shared a heartwarming photo of her hand cradling the tiny hand of her newborn, paired with a gold bracelet inscribed with the name "Halo."
In her caption, she expressed her joy, saying: "Even though we're a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son... welcome to the world my halo [...] the world is desperate to know you."
Known for her privacy, Bailey kept her pregnancy journey under wraps, never officially confirming it until now, so the news came as a shock to her fans, some of whom had been speculating for months.
One person said: "Right on YOUR TIME, when you’re READY! I love that for you don’t ever let the internet bully you," while a second exclaimed: "SO SHE WAS PREGNANT ALL ALONG WHAT!?"
Rachel Zegler, the star of the latest Hunger Games movie, penned: "Welcome baby halo!!!!! and congratulations beautiful mama."
Although the star did her best to hide her pregnancy, fans had been speculating about the possibility of a Baby Bailey for months. However, this also led to a lot of inappropriate comments from her followers.
Back in November, the Disney star shared a video calling out one person for commenting on her "pregnancy nose". Check out the video below:
Responding to the fan's comment on Snapchat, Bailey firmly said: "If I see one more person say something about my nose, just one more time - it's gonna be hell to pay. And you know why? Because I am Black. I love my nose.
"What are you concerned about my nose for? Leave me the hell alone!"
Bailey and DDG, 26, made their relationship public in March 2022 when DDG, the founder of Zooted Music record label, posted a birthday tribute to the R&B singer.
Back in May, Bailey spoke to PEOPLE about her romance with DDG, describing him as a real-life Prince Charming. "I think the best thing about young love is that you're able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else,” she shared. “And you're discovering new parts of yourself and maybe things that you didn't notice before about your heart."
In September, she hinted at the inspiration behind her upcoming solo album, rooted in the deep love she shares with DDG. "You know, you have puppy love experiences, you think that’s love. But this is my first deep, deep, real love," Bailey reflected.
"It’s like, What the heck did I just experience and go through? A whirlwind of amazingness. You never know what you’re capable of until you’re put through it."
Congratulations to the new parents!
