The "Sexiest Man Alive" has been named, although it seems that the winner hasn't gone down too well with everyone.

Once again, I have been snubbed for this award, so I apologize in advance if this article is a tad bitter.

Each year, People Magazine crowns one man as the sexiest, with Patrick Dempsey taking the honor in 2023.

This year has been given to one man who you can probably guess by the phrase: "Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica."

That's right - John Krasinski who rose to fame as Jim Halpert in The Office is this year's Sexiest Man Alive!

However, the award left the man himself a bit shocked.

“Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts,” Krasinski shared with the magazine in this week’s cover story.

“Other than maybe I'm being punked. That's not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I'll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me.”

But how has the internet reacted to this news? Not well.

People have flooded X with their thoughts, with one person writing: "Have some shame."

A second said: "have we seen other men," while a third added: "His facial expression says he can’t believe it either."

Amongst the comments were suggestions for other men, with the most common being Pedro Pascal, Jonathan Bailey, and Glen Powell.

Although Krasinski does have supporters, as one person wrote: "Sexy isn’t just looks ladies. @johnkrasinski is funny, an incredible actor/filmmaker, a loving family man and hot as hell!! This is so deserved!!"

Since starring in The Office, Krasinski has found himself among Hollywood's elite and has shown his prowess in movies such as A Quiet Place.

But the 45-year-old star says he’s happiest in his private life, where he’s simply a devoted husband and father.

Living in Brooklyn with his wife of 14 years, actress Emily Blunt, 41, and their two daughters, Hazel, 10, and Violet, eight, Krasinski said family time is at the heart of his life, with simple pleasures like Netflix binges and bedtime stories.

When Krasinski shared the big news with Blunt, her reaction was full of joy, he recalled.

The actress had once joked that she would plaster their home with the magazine cover if he won the title, a comment Krasinski found particularly amusing: “Do we have that on camera? Because that’s like a binding contract, I think,” he said. “My children will love that, it won’t be weird at all.”

This year, Krasinski reached new heights in Hollywood with IF, a project he starred in, wrote, produced, and directed, cementing his place as one of the industry's top filmmakers.

Yet he admits the journey wasn’t always easy, especially in the early days. “I had to pitch the studio like 54 times [for A Quiet Place] before they said yes,” he said.

“I’m pretty sure someone said, ‘Sorry, is Jim from The Office going to direct this?’ And I went, ‘Oh, it’s John, but we’ll get there.’”

As for the impact of his new “Sexiest Man Alive” title at home, Krasinski is realistic. “I think it's going to make me do more household chores,” he joked. “After this comes out, she’ll be like, ‘All right, that means you’re going to really earn it here at home.’”

I'm a big fan of Krasinski so I don't mind losing out to him - but next year, the award is mine.
