As part of her new royal duties, Meghan Markle is required to fly across the world on a semi-regular basis. Sucks, right? But while she's now indulging in the luxury of private jets and being driven directly to the tarmac, the royal somehow managed to go undetected when she flew on a commercial flight back to Canada last week.

Meghan was reportedly visiting a friend, and she decided to fly on a regular Air Canada flight for the long-haul journey. Seems odd, right? Why would you forgo a private jet for one that's full of curious passengers hoping to get a glimpse of the Duchess? Well, it could be that she didn't want to waste all that fuel just for her single journey.

Plus, it turns out that Meghan has her in-flight routine down to a tee so that she can arrive at her destination feeling fresh and awake, no matter the timezone.

Even though she has to live a decidedly more private life now that she's a royal, there's plenty of Meghan Markle intel we can find from her old blog, The Tig. While the site may no longer be live, some clever people were able to keep a record of everything Meghan shared on there before it got deleted along with all her other social media profiles.

And lo and behold - Meghan once blogged about her travel essentials. Her go-to products include a bunch of germ-busting goods and stuff to make her feel comforted on the inside and out. Here's what she recommends.

1. Anti-bacterial wipes

Meghan knows that germs are everywhere - especially on transportation. "I’m no germophobe, but when I get on a plane I always use some quick hand wipes or a travel sanitizer spray to wipe it all down," she wrote on the Tig. "That includes the little TV, the service tray, and all the buttons around your seat."

2. Antibiotic cream

Again, to keep the germs at bay, Meghan took this tip from another familiar name. "A dear friend of mine once told me that Leonardo DiCaprio gave her an excellent travel tip," she said on her blog. "Evidently, he said that to avoid getting sick on planes, he puts a little Neosporin on a cotton swab and coats the inside of his nostrils. Not only does it create a barrier for germs, it also lubricates the skin in the nose. That’s important because when the skin cracks, germs can come a running in, so the coating of the Neosporin doubly protects you."

3. A "portable hug"

AKA, a nice, big, soft scarf. "This has become invaluable to me when catching some Zzzzzs on a flight, or feeling swaddled in a hotel room," she wrote. "Throw it in your purse or backpack, and no matter how far you travel, you will always feel comforted both on and off the plane with something that feels and smells like home."

4. Probiotics

Meghan's known to be a bit of a foodie, and she knows that boosting your gut with some healthy bacteria will do wonders for your digestive health and overall wellbeing while you're travelling. "Always travel with a high strain probiotic," she recommends of the small but mighty supplements.

5. Water, and lots of it

The royal claims that drinking a lot more water than you usually do will help you fend off post-flight exhaustion. "Hydrate like you’re dying of thirst–because even if you’re not, for your body–the thirst is real. This dynamic duo of probiotics and agua will keep your gut health in check and honestly stave off jet lag if you’re globetrotting on your travails."

Thanks for the tips, Meghan!
