Tom Holland confirms 'Back to the Future' remake talks have happened
Tom Holland has confirmed Back to the Future remake talks have happened, saying he thinks the original is "one of the most perfect films" ever made.
He was asked about rumors that he might be appearing in a reboot while he was promoting his latest project Onward, a computer-animated fantasy flick from Pixar.

Holland also referenced the fact that he was recently put into a now-viral Back to the Future deep fake with himself as Marty McFly and his Spider-Man co-star, Robert Downey Jr., as Doc Brown.

When asked about the deep fake in an interview with BBC Radio 1, the Spider-Man actor said:
"I’d be lying if I said there hadn’t been conversations in the past about doing some sort of remake, but that film is the most perfect film- or one of the most perfect films, one that could never be made better. That said, if [Robert Downey Jr.] and I could just shoot that one scene that they remade for fun - he could pay for it cause he’s got loads of money - I would do it for my fee and we could remake that scene. I think we owe it to deep fake because they did such a good job. … I think I’m gonna speak to Robert and see if we can try to recreate something for deep fake."
However, a 2015 interview with the original director Robert Zemeckis painted a rather different picture of the likelihood of a Back To The Future reboot.
“Oh, God no,” he told The Telegraph regarding the prospect of a remake. “That can’t happen until both Bob and I are dead. And then I’m sure they’ll do it, unless there’s a way our estates can stop it.
“I mean, to me, that’s outrageous. Especially since it’s a good movie. It’s like saying ‘Let’s remake Citizen Kane. Who are we going to get to play Kane?’ What folly, what insanity is that? Why would anyone do that?”
