IShowSpeed - the irreverent streaming sensation - found himself in a hairy situation during his escapades in South Korea, after a seemingly harmless encounter with a dog took an unexpected turn.

If you haven't heard of IShowSpeed - real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr. - he is an insanely popular YouTuber and streamer who currently boasts more than 24 million subscribers on the platform.

As well as his live-streams and gaming videos, he's also known for his catchphrase... barking. Yes, he often barks like a dog in his videos.

Anyway, it turns out Speed's bark wasn't a match for a dog's bite during his recent adventures in the bustling streets of South Korea.

During the live stream, which aired on Wednesday (May 15), IShowSpeed encountered a petite pup being cradled in the arms of a passerby.

Ever the provocateur, the streamer couldn't resist the urge to engage in some playful conversation with the pup, promptly launching into a bout of barking.

Ignoring warning signs, the YouTuber ventured closer and appeared to start sniffing at the animal - only to be met by the dog's sharp teeth.

Speed was left stunned and nursing a bleeding nose, and he repeatedly yelled: "It just f**king bit me!".

Nevertheless, his companions saw the funny side as they could be heard laughing from behind the camera.

After joking that he would be suing the pet owner, the Youtuber took responsibility and told her: "It was my fault [...] You’re okay."

Over on X, the responses to the now-viral incident were probably what you'd expect, with one person tweeting: "What’d he think was gonna happen".

A second added: "This was beyond satisfying to watch. Poor doggie."

"Well that wasnt a very smart decision. Never get in a dogs space like that," a third added.

And a fourth tweeted: "Definitely on the dogs side on this one."

Despite the mishap, this incident adds another chapter to IShowSpeed's eventful journey in South Korea.

The streamer says he was apprehended by the nation's military personnel after attempting for access and film over the border in North Korea.

“I went to go to North Korea, right?” he told his followers. “I tried to bring my LiveU and stream and stuff. They took my LiveU, they took my stream.”
