It's official - Cher has a new man.

The 76-year-old hitmaker took to Twitter on Saturday to confirm her latest fling with music producer Alexander Edwards, 36.

She also hit back at critics of their 40-year age gap, claiming: "Love doesn't know math".

Cher first revealed the news by tweeting a snap of her new beau captioned simply "Alexander" with a red heart emoji.

Unsurprisingly, the post sparked speculation from many fans, who took to the comments section to ask Cher about her new relationship, explaining they met at Paris Fashion Week.

Music producer Edwards is the Vice President of the Artists and Repertoire department of the music company Def Jam. The company boasts big names like Justin Bieber, Rihanna, 2 Chainz, and DMX.

Meanwhile, Edwards is also well known for his relationship with Kanye West's ex, Amber Rose. He shares a three-year-old son - Slash Electric Alexander Edwards - with the model. However, their romance came to a sticky end when Rose accused him of having affairs with 12 different people back in August, per the Daily Mail.

These allegations of Edwards' cheating led many fans to be concerned that Cher was getting involved with him.

"I'm not sure how I feel about this. I've been a fan for so long that I'm immediately suspicious of his intentions towards you. WE know you are fabulous and I'm sure your inner circle will continue to have your back. Want you to be happy, but not taken advantage of," one fan tweeted.

But Cher was adamant about her new relationship, tweeting in response: "As we All Know …I WASNT BORN YESTERDAY."

"There Are No Guarantees. Anytime you make a Choice You Take a Chance. I’ve Always Taken Chances…It’s WHO I Am," she added.

When fans continued to question Edwards' intentions, the legendary artist hit out at them, writing: "Haven’t You Got Anything Else 2 Do!? Let Me Explain…I DONT GIVE A F* WHAT ANYONE THINKS."

She added in a follow-up tweet: "I’m Not Defending us. Haters are Gonna Hate…Doesn't Matter That we’re Happy [and] Not Bothering Anyone."

As for their 40-year age gap, Cher made it clear that it didn't matter to her, tweeting: "LOVE DOESNT KNOW MATH, IT SEES."

The singer has been married twice before - first, to late ex-husband Sonny Bono, who died in 1998. After splitting from Bonno, she tied with knot with singer Gregg Allman in 1975. He passed away in 2017.

She also has two sons by her ex-husbands - Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman. Both are older than her latest flame Edwards.

Despite this, Cher revealed that her new boyfriend had met her whole family when a fan quizzed her about it on Twitter.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time the singer has dated a younger man. She had previously been romantically linked with Ron Zimmerman (12 years her junior), Tom Cruise, (15 years her junior), and Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora (13 years her junior).
