Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson received an unexpected gift while on stage as part of his tour for the forthcoming Black Adam film.

While promoting his new onscreen venture at Diego Rivera Museum in Mexico City last week, the 50-year-old wrestler-turned-actor was given a baby who was crowd-surfed to him on stage.

The bizarre ordeal was filmed by shocked onlookers and a clip of the moment ultimately made it to the Jumanji actor's official Instagram page.

The clip shows Johnson up on stage while a baby girl wrapped in a pink blanket is gently passed down to him. When the infant reaches the stage, Johnson looks stunned as he delicately holds her.

Watch the moment below:

"Our BLACK ADAM Tour has been electric, fun, and emotional," the Hollywood star wrote in his caption. "People do cry and they hand me things - I was NOT surprised to be handed this beautiful little baby."

"Her father caught my attention because he had tears in his eyes when he held her up high and gestured for me to hold her. I honestly thought he was holding a toy doll he wanted me to have as a gift," he continued.

"This beautiful, serene, present, and trusting angel is Luciana. One day, I bet she’ll inspire all those around her. And whatever this moment meant for her emotional father - means it meant something special for me too," he added.

Johnson later shared another video from the movie event, in which he announced to the audience: "Mexico, I want to introduce you to someone very special - our biggest fan, Luciana."

While the moment was special for the Fast and Furious star, many people found themselves perplexed over the video and expressed their worry for the baby's safety as it was passed to different hands across a crowd.

One user shared: "I am a HUGE fan. But as [a] dad, I would never pass my newborn through [the] hands of strangers. Like I cannot even fathom doing such a thing. Or even having my baby in that environment."

Another wrote: "What the f.....?!!?! Don't you pass your newborn through a freaking crowd of strangers... what is wrong with you people???????"

A third user commented: "Why the hell are you passing a baby through all them strange hands???? Why is the baby even there??? So many questions."

A fourth said: "Am I the only one thinking that sending that newborn through a moshpit of strangers to the stage is a little on the risky side?"

The event came just days after Johnson revealed the fate of his presidential bid with CBS Sunday Morning this weekend, explaining that he would not consider running for President of the United States because he would rather spend time with his family.

According to the Red Notice actor - who shares daughter Simone Johnson, 21, with ex Dany Garcia and daughters Jasmine Johnson, six, and Tiana Johnson, four, with wife Lauren Hashian - while he loves "our country," he also loves "being a daddy".

"Especially during this time, this critical time in my daughters’ lives," he continued. "Because I know what it was like to be on the road and be so busy that I was absent for a lot of years for my first daughter’s growing up [at] this critical age at this critical time in her life. And that’s what the presidency will do."

"Sure, CEO sounds great, but the number one thing I want to be is daddy. That’s it," he added.
