Drake lost $1 million after placing a bet on Argentina winning the World Cup final... The catch is the bet specified that it had to be within 90 minutes - oops!
If you follow sports closely, you might have placed a few wagers here and there but perhaps never to the amount of $1 million... considering most of us probably don't have that amount lying around!
Drake - real name Aubrey Graham - decided that the thought of a World Cup final wasn't exciting enough on its own, and he needed to up the ante.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, the 36-year-old rapper shared his stake online, where he wagered $1 million on Argentina to win, and it would return $2.75 million.
Argentina did indeed win the World Cup - but the bet stated that it had to be within "normal time", meaning the first 90 minutes.
Drake looked well on course to win big as Argentina was in total control of the fixture - being two goals up heading into the 80th minute.
That was until French star Kylian Mbappe had other ideas and scored two goals in quick succession, taking the thrilling final into extra time and losing Drake his bet.
Footage emerged on social media of the rapper sitting alongside a friend, where they each chose a side to place a bet on going into the final.
Rather fittingly, when declaring his support for Argentina - Drake was wearing a jacket of soccer team Napoli from the Serie A in Italy.
One of Argentina's greatest-ever players - Diego Maradona - played for Napoli during his career and his image is often seen around the city and on memorabilia sold by the club.
This isn't the first big wager Drake has placed. According to the Daily Mail, the rapper lost over $2 million betting on the former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya to beat Alex Pereira in the octagon last month.
Adesanya was the bookies' favorite, but Pereira broke his guard with a mean left hook, sending the former champion to the canvas in the fifth round, claiming the title for himself and losing Drake a lot of money.
The "Drake Curse" did seem to be broken last night. It's widely believed on the internet that whatever team Drake backs to win a game will end up losing but Argentina put a stop to that.
Make sure to gamble responsibly and maybe don't wager $1 million at a time.
