Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson gave a heartwarming response to a teenage fan who took a cardboard cutout of him to her prom.

The former WWE pro wrestler is known for his generosity of spirit. And he was as gracious as ever when he saw that Mel - who goes by @smilesweetracoon on Instagram - had taken his likeness as her date.

Mel shared a snap of herself and her friends posing with the dashing cut out on May 22, along with the caption: "Thank you @therock for taking me to prom. I had so much fun. Best date a person could ask for."

She hashtagged the post: #dwanejohnson #therock and #itsaboutdriveitsaboutpower.

It wasn't long before the pictures came to Johnson's attention. But rather than ignoring them or giving them a like, the Red Notice star went one step further and reshared them to his own Instagram feed on Monday (May 30).

"It was absolutely my honor @smilesweetsraccoon and you were the best prom date EVER!!" the star wrote in the caption.

"Great to meet your family and friends too," he added along with a winking face emoji.

He finished the caption off by writing: "ps, I’m super happy you posted this! Have the best summer!"

In the comments section, Johnson's fans have been quick to heap praise on him for being so sweet and generous with his fans.

Meanwhile, Mel's original Instagram post has unsurprisingly gone viral, and the teenager has been inundated with messages from people telling her that she has "just won at life." At the time of writing, her post has a whopping 47,000 likes.

This isn't the first time the Fast and Furious star has made headlines by being kind and generous toward his fans. Just last Christmas he gave away his custom truck to Navy veteran Oscar Rodriguez.

In a post documenting the gift, Johnson explained that Rodriguez deserved the truck because of all the wonderful work he does to help others.

"Takes care of his 75-year-old-mom. Personal trainer. Leader at his church. Provides support and meals for women victimised by domestic violence. Proud and humble Navy veteran. Kind human being," the Rock wrote.
