Ed Sheeran has finally revealed the unique space-themed name of his second child - another moniker to add to the list of kooky celebrity baby names.
The 32-year-old pop icon - who shot to fame in 2011 with his debut single 'The A Team' - discussed the latest addition to his family in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, where he also spoke candidly about his struggles with depression and addiction.
During that interview, he mentioned that he'd tried and tested a variety of different drugs when he "used to be a party boy" in his twenties.
He also added that these topics, as well as a deep dive into his personal life and music career, will be explored in his upcoming Disney+ docuseries Ed Sheeran: The Sum Of It All. Set for release on May 3, the series will be "a definitive and searingly honest view into his private life as he explores the universal themes that inspire his music."
One thing Sheeran's fans haven't been to get over, however, is the space-themed name he and his wife Cherry Seaborn have given their newborn daughter, Jupiter. No stranger to unique names, Sheeran and his wife called their older two-year-old daughter Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran after the fantasy novel trilogy His Dark Materials that features a heroine named Lyra.
"I realize some people think it's quite a strange name," Sheeran admitted via People. "But my wife's called Cherry, and she is the only Cherry that I've ever met and I think that she's the only Cherry that she's ever met and I quite like that. In my class at school, there were probably more Eds."
The singer also added that he and his wife "just wanted to give her a name that was unique, so that she would be the only one."
As for the middle name - Antarctica - Sheeran revealed that this came about as an idea after he toured the continent with Seaborn shortly before she became pregnant.
"When tour finished, I've basically toured every single continent but I've never been to Antarctica so that was always on our list. So we went down there in 2019 and it was just incredible. The most amazing place on Earth," he said.

Sheeran and Seaborn aren't alone, though. Jupiter and Lyra have some stiff competition when it comes to unusual celeb baby names - like North West, Apple Martin, X AE A-XII Musk, Kal-El Cage, and even Pilot Inspektor Lee!
