Elton John's representative has shared a statement after the singer was hospitalized after suffering "a slip" while at home.

On Sunday (August 29), the 76-year-old 'Rocket Man' star was in his Mont Boron villa outside of Nice, France, when he fell and was taken to Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco.

The British star was examined by consultants in the orthopedic department and kept overnight for observation. He was then discharged from the hospital on Monday (August 29).

A spokesman for John issued a statement about the music legend's minor incident, reassuring fans that he was now home and in "good health".

"Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure," the statement said, per PEOPLE. "Following checkups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health."

This isn't the first time the five-time Grammy winner has suffered an injury in recent years.  The 'I'm Still Standing' musician previously pushed back the remainder of his 2021 tour dates to 2023 after he "fell awkwardly on a hard surface".

The incident left his hip in "considerable pain and discomfort," and resulted in him undergoing physio and specialist treatment. However, John still had limited mobility and had to undergo surgery.

"I have been advised to have an operation as soon as possible to get me back to full fitness and make sure there are no long-term complications," he said in a statement shared on X at the time.

Months later, John opened up about the extent of his injuries in an interview with Lorraine and explained that he was still in a great deal of pain.

"I wouldn't be 100% fit, I wouldn't be 100% confident, because I'm in pain most of the time with my hip," he said, as cited by PEOPLE. "I can't move sideways, can't get in and out of a car, and the decision had to be made because I wouldn't want to go on stage and give less than 100 percent."

He added that it was "better to get it done now" when it came to undergoing surgery.

The 'Cold Heart' artist concluded his tour in early July and has been vacationing at the French Riviera with his husband, David Furnish, and their two children, Zachary, 12, and Elijah, 10.

Before his final shows in Copenhagen and Stockholm, Furnish said that his significant other was "jubilant" that his touring career was coming to an end.

"It’s always hard saying goodbye," Furnish told Metro. "[But] It’s hard. I really miss him. The boys really miss him. He really misses us. He’s had enough of that. We’ve had enough of that. Now it’s time to spend more time together as a family."
