Eva Green has spoken out in support of Johnny Depp.

The Casino Royale star took to Instagram yesterday to side with Depp amid his ongoing legal battle against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Depp is suing Heard for $50 million over an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018, in which she claimed to be a survivor of domestic abuse. The Pirates of the Caribbean star maintains that he was the real victim in their turbulent marriage and that Heard's allegations wrecked his reputation and his career. Heard, meanwhile, has doubled down on her claims that Depp was physically abusive and countersued for $100 million.

Over the last few weeks, the celebrity exes have been battling it out in Fairfax County Court, Virginia. The high-profile defamation trial has made headlines worldwide and had many viewers glued to their screens.

Hollywood actress Green is the latest celebrity to declare her support for either Depp or Heard. On Friday, May 20, she took to Instagram to make it very clear that she was hoping for Depp to come out on top.

"I have no doubt Johnny will emerge with his good name and wonderful heart revealed to the world, and life will be better than it ever was for him and his family," she wrote alongside a red carpet snap of her and Depp. The two are old friends, having starred together in Tim Burton's 2012 horror comedy Dark Shadows.

Green is not the first celeb to publicly voice their support of Depp. Comedian Bill Burr used his podcast to praise the actor and urge those who condemned him to apologize.

"From what I’ve seen, the guy is f***ing destroying. And what’s great about this, is if he really does expose this woman for lying. I’m wondering if all these people that, you know, just accepted her lies about him, if they’re going to apologize somehow," he said.

Fellow comedian Chris Rock also cracked some pretty anti-Heard jokes during a stand-up show in London earlier this month.

"Believe all women, believe all women, except Amber Heard. What the f*** is she on?" Rock said, going on to reference a much-discussed incident in which Heard allegedly left human feces on her then-husband's bed.

"She s*** in his bed! Once you s*** in someone’s bed, you just guilty of everything. What the fuck is going on there? Wow. And they had a relationship after that," Rock joked.
