Gisele Bündchen has responded to claims that she gave her ex-husband, Tom Brady an ultimatum prior to the couple calling it quits.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the 42-year-old opened up about her divorce to the former New England Patriots veteran stating that the entire ordeal is not as "black and white" as people are making it out to be.

Last year both Bündchen and Brady confirmed that after 13 years of marriage, they would be parting ways.

Speaking of the split during a segment for his weekly podcast, Let's Go, the 45-year-old told his co-host, Jim Gray, that his separation from Bündchen was an "amicable" one, stating that he is "really focused on two things: taking care of my family and certainly my children, and secondly, doing the best job I can to win football games."

Bündchen also confirmed the news with some words of her own, taking to Instagram to tell fans that despite their divorce, she "only [wishes] the best for Tom."

"With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have amicably finalized our divorce. My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart. We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care and attention they deserve," she wrote in a lengthy Stories post.

"The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always," she added.

While Brady seems to have been pretty active despite the controversy surrounding his former relationship, Bündchen remained relatively quiet until last month when she graced the cover of Vogue Italia.

Now, she's seemingly ready to speak her truth via the Vanity Fair feature.

Referring to it as "the death of my dream," Bündchen cleared up a few rumors that were seemingly swirling around during that period including one that stated she gave her then-husband an ultimatum regarding his career.

"Wow, people really made it about that. What’s been said is one piece of a much bigger puzzle," she told the outlet. "It’s not so black and white."

The supermodel went on to disclose that she was actually really supportive of Brady's career, especially considering the fact that she was also at the height of hers when the pair first got together.

Calling the claims "very hurtful" and "the craziest thing I've ever heard," Bündchen stated: "Listen, I have always cheered for him, and I would continue forever. If there's one person I want to be the happiest in the world, it's him, believe me. [...] I want all his dreams to come true."

Elsewhere the former fashion model also opened up about the divorce as a whole, explaining that sometimes it stems from things beyond one's control.

"Sometimes you grow apart," she said. "When I was 26 years old and he was 29 years old, we met, we wanted a family, we wanted things together. As time goes by, we realize that we just wanted different things, and now we have a choice to make."

She goes on to add that "When you love someone, you don’t put them in a jail and say, 'You have to live this life.' You set them free to be who they are, and if you want to fly the same direction, then that’s amazing."

When talking about moving forward with Brady, the 42-year-old said said that she has no regrets looking back on their relationship, and that they are still working together as a team.

The pair share two children 13-year-old son Benjamin and 10-year-old daughter Vivian.
