Gordon Ramsay is turning out to be the "idiot sandwich" as diners discover a New Year's Eve dinner at his restaurant will cost them upwards of $450... and that's without drinks!
The celebrity chef - who rose to fame as the potty-mouthed host of Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares - is clearly making use of the inevitable annual desperation people face when it comes to booking their New Year's Eve dinners months in advance.

As it turns out, the 56-year-old will be offering diners the experience of a meal on the last day of 2022 in his swanky three Michelin star restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, in Chelsea.
According to the restaurant's website - which states that it "pairs unparalleled service and fine dining with an intimate ambience" - the sample menu boasts a range of interesting dishes, including duck tea, veal sweetbread, and a peanut praline parfait.

However, drinks aren't included. If guests wish to pair some wine with their dishes, that will be an extra $312! At that eye-watering price, it's probably safe to say many of us will have blown our budget for 2023 before the year has even begun!
Relive Gordon Ramsay's most iconic insult:Though, as diners, are we really surprised at the costly nature of New Year's Eve celebrations? It's come to be something many of us simply expect, as businesses take the opportunity to profit off the biggest night of the year.
The Mirror reported that one of Ramsay's other London restaurants, Pétrus, will set each diner back around $350. It reportedly includes menu items such as smoked eel and potato salad. As for Christmas Day, the same restaurant boasts a $312 per person festive menu.
