They may not have the most traditional relationship, but Grimes says she and Elon Musk will always love each other.
Though the singer, 33, revealed in a new interview that she considers the Tesla founder, 50, her boyfriend, she's since clarified that the pair have split again.
Their split follows Musk's comments saying in September that the two were "semi-separated, but still love each other".

"There's no real word for it. I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we're very fluid," she explained in a Vanity Fair cover story.
"We live in separate houses. We're best friends. We see each other all the time… We just have our own thing going on, and I don't expect other people to understand it."
Grimes later amended her stance, posting on Twitter: "Me and E have broken up *again* since the writing of this article haha, but he's my best friend and the love of my life, and my life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now."
Elsewhere in the interview, Grimes revealed that she and Musk secretly welcomed her second child together.
The musician invited a journalist over to her home in Austin, Texas, for the interview. When they heard a baby cry, they asked if she had another child apart from the son.
"I'm not at liberty to speak on these things," Grimes told the magazine in response. "Whatever is going on with family stuff, I just feel like kids need to stay out of it, and X is just out there.
"I mean, I think E is really seeing him as a protégé and bringing him to everything and stuff.… X is out there. His situation is like that. But, yeah, I don't know."

Grimes told the outlet that she and Musk welcomed a daughter in December 2021 via surrogate.
The baby's full name is Exa Dark Sideræl, though they've nicknamed her Y, per Vanity Fair.
Grimes said the former couple — who share son X and daughter Y — also want at least one or two more children. "This is the best it's ever been," she said of their relationship. "We just need to be free."
