Mitchel Musso, best known for starring in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, was reportedly arrested in Texas over the weekend.
According to a report from TMZ, the 32-year-old spent time in Rockwall jail after police were called to a hotel where he had allegedly taken a bag of potato chips without paying.
When staff told Musso, "who appeared intoxicated" according to the publication, to pay for the snack, he allegedly was verbally abusive and left without paying, the Dallas Morning News reported.
Musso was subsequently charged with "public intoxication, theft (under $100), expired registration, failure to display a driver’s license, and violating a promise to appear notice," as reported by the outlet and Rockwall's public arrest records.
A "routine records check" on the former Disney Channel star also found that authorities had some outstanding traffic warrants for Musso as well.
Musso spent one night in the Rockwall County Detention Center before he was released Sunday (August 27) afternoon after posting a $1,000 bond. Police officers also released the mugshot of the actor with a towel over his chest, as shared by KIRO 7.
This isn't the first time the Hatching Pete actor was apprehended by police officials, as back in 2011 he was arrested for driving under the influence in Burbank, California. At the time, he was sentenced to 36 months of informal probation, fined, and required to attend mandatory alcohol education classes.
Musso had a fairly successful acting career as he starred alongside Miley Cyrus as Oliver Oken in the beloved Hannah Montana series for four seasons, from 2006 to 2011. He also starred in the role in 2009's Hannah Montana: The Movie.
In addition to his Hannah Montana fame, Musso voiced Jeremy Johnson in the animated series Phineas and Ferb from 2007 - 2015, and was also part of the film Monster House, starring as DJ.
Other acting credits include starring as Raymond Figg in the original movie, Life Is Ruff, the voice of Aang in the unaired version of the pilot episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and appearing in two seasons of Pair of Kings show. Furthermore, he also made an appearance in Wizards of Waverly Place and hosted Disney Channel's PrankStars show in 2011.
Musso also had a music career, releasing his debut single, 'The In Crowd' - a cover of a John Hampson song - on December 5, 2008, and his self-titled debut album on June 2, 2009. His second single, 'Hey,' was released on May 15, 2009, and had an accompanying music video that premiered on Disney Channel.
The former child actor took a ten-year hiatus from music and returned last September with his single titled 'DRANK' for his mixtape, Ghost, which was released on October 28, 2022.
