Ian Ziering has broken his silence after footage circulated of him involved in a brawl in the street with a group of mini-bike riders.

In a clip shared by TMZ, the 90210 star, 59, was seen getting out of his car as two bikers sat in front of it before appearing to push one of them.

The rest of the group pulled up and encircled the actor, who was pushed up against his car as a mass brawl broke out in the street, and he was seen running across the street to attempt to shake them off.

Ziering has now spoken out about what sparked the incident, sharing a lengthy message and confirming that he and his daughter, who had been in the car with him, were unharmed.

The Sharknado actor told his followers on Instagram: "Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes. While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation.

"In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself."

He added: "I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace.

"This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior. As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient."

Ziering told his fans that he has "always been an advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct," adding: "This incident reinforces my belief in the importance of personal and community safety. We must address the underlying issues that lead to such disruptive behavior and ensure that our streets are safe for everyone.

"I urge city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent future occurrences."

He concluded his message by thanking his family, friends, and fans for their support, adding: "It’s in challenging moments like these that the strength and unity of our community are most vital. Happy new year."

The incident had occurred on Hollywood Boulevard on New Year's Eve, however, in the footage released by TMZ as an age-restricted video on Youtube here, nobody appeared to stop and help despite there being many people around.

In another clip shared by the outlet, the group of bikers were seen driving off as Ziering headed back to his vehicle where he comforted his 12-year-old daughter Mia, who appeared to be in tears at witnessing the scary incident.

TMZ added that an "official report" had been filed after the incident, listing the Sharknado actor as the "victim", and while there have been no arrests made at the time of writing, police told the outlet they are in contact with people involved.

Ziering is best known for playing the role of Steve Sanders on 90210 from 1990 until 2000 and he shares his two daughters, Mia, 12, and Penna, 10, with his ex-wife Erin Ludwig.

The couple married in 2010, separated in 2019, and their divorce was finalized in 2022.
