Jason Ritter has hit back at body shamers for attacking his wife on social media.

The Joan of Arcadia star took to Twitter to defend his wife and fellow actress Melanie Lynskey after she received some cruel comments from trolls online.

"If anyone has any further unsolicited comments about *anybody* else's body, they can feel free to write them in permanent ink onto their own foreheads and swan dive directly into the sun," Ritter, 41, tweeted.

His post was in response to a tweet Lynskey made on Friday, in which she expressed her frustration at constant unsolicited comments about her weight.

"Most egregious are the 'I care about her health!!' people…" wrote the Yellowjackets star on Twitter.

"B**** you don't see me on my Peloton! You don't see me running through the park with my child. Skinny does not always equal healthy," she added.

Ritter and Lynskey tied the knot back in 2020, and share a three-year-old daughter.

The 44-year-old actress opened up about the expectation for her to lose weight in an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this month.

She explained how a staffer on her Showtime series Yellowjackets had suggested she ask producers for a personal trainer.

"They were asking me, 'What do you plan to do? I'm sure the producers will get you a trainer. They'd love to help you with this,'" Lynskey recalled.

Both her and Ritter's tweets were met with an outpouring of support from fans.

"You owe no one a goddam thing but a brilliant performance," one fan responded, adding: "Keep being f***ing gorgeous and talented and know you’ve got fans out here who think you are a beautiful queen and a magnificent actress."

"Perfect response from you and your beautiful @melanielynskey. When will people learn to worry about their own body not someone else’s and stop the harassment and bullying going on in this world," another commented.

"*Caring* doesn't mean jamming one's opinion down the other person's throat," wrote a third.

Meanwhile, other fans were just excited to discover that Ritter and Lynskey were a married couple.

"Finding out you two are married has changed my life," one tweeted.

"Mine too. You both are awesome actors," added another.
