Jenna Bush Hager has revealed that her boyfriend in the seventh grade broke up with her after catching a glimpse of her in a bathing suit.

Before the 41-year-old journalist - who is the twin daughter of the 43rd U.S. President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush - found love with now-husband Henry Hager, she dealt with her share of dating problems.

The mom-of-three shared during a three-minute confessional on Wednesday’s (April 12) broadcast of the Today show that she experienced quite a difficult breakup in school.

The co-hosts began their discussion by showing a now-viral video Ariana Grande posted on TikTok of her addressing concerns about her body.

Watch Grande address the comments below:

On Tuesday (April 11), the 29-year-old pop star - who deactivated her Twitter account last year - broke her silence after people claimed she is "too thin".

"The body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body," Grande explained in the video. "I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly."

The 'No Tears Left To Cry' vocalist - who is currently filming the Wicked movie - elaborated: "[I was] at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn’t my healthy."

Upon seeing the Grammy-nominated singer's video, Bush Hager shared her own experience with body shaming and said: "It’s so interesting because people really do hit you right where it hurts."

"I had a boyfriend in seventh grade who broke up with me after we went swimming together after he saw me in a bathing suit," she divulged.

The former first daughter went on to explain the dangers of body shaming and the long-term impact it can have on one’s mindset. She then admitted that she sometimes struggles to feel at peace with her body, years after the incident.

"I feel like even sometimes now when I feel great - I have three kids, three C-sections, I feel really in my body and I think of it as a beautiful thing - I’ll walk in a pool and have a moment."

The author's break-up was so intense that it affected her approach to parenting. She then stated that she mostly raises her kids to be "loving" to others.

"All we want is loving children. We don’t need the star kid, the this, the that. We want kids that are kind," she said. "The way you do that is model it."

The mother shares daughters Mila, nine, and Poppy, seven, and son Hal, three, with businessman Henry Hager.
